Hello, anybody here refusing the PARCC test? I am. I am anti-PARCC activist who is strongly against PARCC and Pearson.

You got those tests too? I think they are completely unnecessary and interfere with school.

is it something you actually have a choice with?

I had to take those last year. It was better than the other standardized test we have to take and I'm taking this year, MCAS.

I refused my PARCC test and I had to sit in there for 2 hours doing nothing because reading a book and doing homework for class was "in violation of testing policy".
It depends on what state and district you're in, some districts and states don't give the option to refuse it while others do. Do some research on it or even email your Board of Education or superintendent.

Do seniors have to take it next year? I heard its k-12 but I really don't want to take it, I'm just about fed up with ACTs. My sister (she's a freshman) says she didn't like it they gave them so much time for only a few questions and it took forever to log in

So I may be alittle late for this but PARCC is a completely waste of time and its not helping us in any way at all me and my school are currently going through a peaceful protest and we are tired of these tests.

I'm anti-PARCC also. Luckily it doesn't count for the next few years in our district. I probably failed it because I started a few essays with "Listen up noobs..."

I dislike standardised testing to begin with, but since we have no alternate I see PARCC as a waste of time
