For any of the baseball fans out there, hopefully we can get some baseball talk going.

As a Detroit Tigers fan, I am very happy about Opening Day. Price came one out to having a complete game and although it was against the Twins, we looked pretty solid. Still have a long way to go and it is going to be a very tough race in the AL Central. Always nice when you can start with a win though

I'm a Yankees fan and I think we have a long season ahead of us, but I'm trying to think positively about it. Hopefully Tanaka is effective again, and opening day isn't a warning of what is to come.

Ew Yankees haha. The Yankees are in a very tough division, much like the Tigers. Baltimore, Toronto, and Boston are going to make it tough to win the division. It is hard to say based on these first few games. I know my Tigers just got done beating on the Twins (11-0 today and 4-0 opening day).

as far as Tanaka I think he will be effective. some pitchers have great opening days like Detroit's David Price (who was one out from a complete game) and others like Jon Lester, who is supposed to be one of the best in baseball, struggled (did no favors for my fantasy team). as long as Tanaka stays healthy, I think he should be one of the highlights for the Yankees. what they will actually do this season is hard to say

Yeah the Tigers are looking pretty hot right now, but the first few games aren't always telling of what's to come. But the team is pretty top notch, and had a good season last year.

A lot of my friends/yankees fans that I know are iffy on Tanaka this year. It's not always easy to bounce back from Tommy John surgery, but his velocity was looking pretty good in the first game, his placement wasn't so good though. It may take a little time to settle in, but like you said, it was just the first game, so we'll see.

oh I forget he had Tommy John surgery. that can make it a hit or miss for sure. Verlander is on the DL for the first time in his career, but I fear he has done something to his arm/shoulder he will never fully recover from. just the way he has been playing the last few seasons.

Tigers have our own tough race in the AL Central with the Royals, White Sox, and Indians. It will be tough to win the AL Central for our 5th season in a row. we can do it, but it is just going to be hard to do so

nice. they are expected to have a semi-decent year this year. I have a few of them on my fantasy team including Robinson Cano. They have the Angels to really contend with this season, but have a possible chance at winning the division, depending what LAA do

that is going to be a very tough division. Mariners, Angels and Athletics are all teams who could possibly win the division and should end up being a very close race all season long.

Did anyone see that Yankees/Red Sox game last night? It went 19 innings! I watched the whole thing, it was pretty intense until the last minute. Sadly the Red Sox won.

haha I watched parts of it, but I did not stay up to see the entire thing. that is super crazy it went 1 innings, but the Yankees and Red Sox have had a number of games over the years which lasted quite a while. those who paid to go to that one def got their money worth haha

haha there have been a lot of close games. Cano needs to start hitting for my fantasy baseball team  My Tigers by the way are now 6-0 and are 1 of the only 3 teams who are still undefeated this season. :D

and no I don't really follow the NBA. I know there are multiple of teams who are tanking to try to get a better lottery pick, but like I said, NBA is not always my specialty to talk about

I live in the Philly area, so the Phillies are my hometown team, and I love them. However, I'm a hardcore Nationals fan, and absolutely adore them.. it sucks liking 2 teams in the same division lol.. This past series was rough, as always. Never sure who I want to win. Disappointed for sure in the 2-4 start for the Nats, and surprised with the Phillies 3-3 start. Here's to hoping the Braves start to suck. The Athletics and the Royals are my AL go to teams, so I'm happy seeing 6-0 for the Royals. 3-4 for the A's isn't awful either, it can (hopefully) only go up.

I have MLB TV, and I have for the past 3(?) seasons and I love it. It keeps me so in sync with everything and watching everyone play makes me so happy. I can't wait to get to a few games. Yay for baseball. <3
(too bad we should have done a vt fantasy league)

oh very nice. I the Nationals have a great chance at winning it all this season. I was so bummed to see Max Scherzer go. Nationals have a killer pitching staff, arguably one, if not, the best in baseball. they would probably be my NL team to go to the World Series if I had to choose today even though the Giants are the only undefeated NL team right now.

I have Jonathan Papelbon as one of my closers for fantasy. he has got my only saves so far which is good. the Phillies are an interesting team, they should be better, but they're not.

as a Tigers fan (we are also 6-0) I am not a fan of the Royals at all. the AL Central is going to be a 4 way race I think for a large part of the season (the Twins are going to be the only AL Central team who will not really do anything). the A's are an interesting team. if the Tigers could not win the AL, I think I would like to see them win too. it would be great for Billy Bean.

I don't have MLBTV, but I get pretty much every Tigers game on TV so I am happy. I agree it would have been so much fun to do VT fantasy baseball

my Tigers are starting to fall to pieces injury wise. goodness gracious. of course the Royals and Cardinals are doing what a lot of people thought they would do. I'm happy the Nats finally turned things around.. My boy Bryce is tearing it up (minus his ejection today lmao) and as a whole, they finally look like a team. I'm so surprised though about where the standings are a month and a half in. Opposite of where I thought for sure.. But lots of cool moments.

the Nationals are still def one of the teams to beat in the NL. they got one of the best pitching rotations and if the bats continue to warm up, like Harper who killed me in fantasy last week (the man had 3 homers in one game) they will give the Cardinals a real challenge for the NL spot in the World Series

lol Torri Hunter player right field. he is a veteran. played for the Tigers for 2 years and was one of my favorites when he was with us. players get upset over various things, it happens . to be fair, there was no reason for him to be ejected (he was ejected before he took his jersey off)

Sorry I never responded to this. they ended up doing a pretty good job I think

At the All Star Break how is your team looking out there? I know my Tigers will be lucky to even get the Wild Card at this point let alone win the division. Angels are battling to take back the AL West. There have been many surprises this season that's for sure both in the AL and the NL

not too many people, but they are. A-Rod had been rock solid for them (I ended up picking him up for my fantasy team). and that is surprising too with as good Toronto has been this year
