Basically after being online for a while when I try to play videos such as youtube or facebook videos the first 6 seconds will play (without sound) for youtube and the first two seconds will play for facebook (again without sound) and then completely freeze.
This occasionally happens with offline media as well the sound will get scratchy then cut out.
This also affects skype and will not let me make calls due to a playback device error.
I've found however that if I refresh the page enough then it eventually works but it's just real damn annoying.
I've also found it's mostly when I've been going through tumblr and it's started around the same time as they added automatic playback for videos and vines, it could have something to do with that?
Couple more things:
Windows 7
Tried multiple browsers
Tried updating everything (browsers, flash player, java etc.)
Tried reboot obviously
Tried disabling extensions

So yeah, if you have any ideas on what's going on or how to fix it that'd be much appreciated.
Obvious solution is to stop going on tumblr but that won't fix the base problem so...

Sounds like either a driver or an actual part is going out. Only way to tell if that's the problem would be to take it to a repair shop and have them check it out.

Just like Kacey said, it's best to just take it to your local PC repair shop just to be safe.

Yeah, either call in to a repair shop or some form of tech support or do a quick check of all your drivers. Also, check the Windows updates because that updates certain things as well. A lot of people forget to update their computer (note to self, do so on own desktop tomorrow) and that can cause problems down the road.
