it seems so simple, I can figure out how to stop a panic attack anytime. but when I'm actually having one it feels like it will never stop

Do breathing exercises and focus on something else. Watch a movie, play with your pets. I like to color mandalas when I get panic attacks. Tell yourself over and over that it's not real, you're safe and okay. Run around your house a bunch of times. Listen to soothing music. Lie down, take a nap. You can ride this one out, I have faith in you. Just do anything to get your mind off the panic attack and whatever is causing it.
Edit: Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was from yesterday. I'm too late :(

My grandmother use to get them all the time and got worse over time. It turns out that she had irregular heart beat medical term is( A fabulation) not life threating and no concern until at a older age. She had heart palpitations that felt like panic attack. Afib is a stroke risk at a older age. See your doctor to be on the safe side
