I got my ACT score today. This was the 3rd time I took it, but the second official score. I only improved by 1. I was really hoping I would get my score up as high as possible and never have to take it again. I hate sitting down for 4 hours taking the ACT it's exhausting. Should I take it again? I got a 24 composite score and a 6 on the writing.

That is pretty low score to get into a university, if that is your goal. I would do some prep course studies and take it again. Or, consider community college as an option to demonstrate your in class academic ability.

That's the thing :/ I took it once in October and the second in march. Inbetween I took prep course twice a week for a month. I was expecting a 28 :(

it depends what college/university you want to get into. It would be worth possibly taking it again. if you know where you may want to go, you can see what requirements they have

I actually just signed up for one in June, I'll keep taking practice tests with hope of improvement.

Have you tried SATs? I mean they suck and there's a lot of prep to do but it's worth a shot, most colleges accept both so I recommend atleast trying both. Just an idea

Ilive in the in the Midwest and most of the schools that I'm applying to only take ACT, SAT seem to be for east and west coast schools/ more elite schools, ie. Harvard, Yale, Berkley, Stanford

All of those schools will also accept ACTs, as long as you take your two SAT II tests as well (I believe? Maybe it's only for some). I don't recall if super scoring applies to the ACT, but either way, I think it's worth a shot taking it again in June and just remaining as studious as you have been. It really couldn't hurt.

At my school, they advise us to only take act twice. But I know a kid that has taken it four times. Like others have said, what is your end goal? There are schools across the country that take that score. But if you really want to do better and can get over the exhaustion; then, I'd recommend taking the test again. But when all is said and done, you have to do you :)

If you want to get into University (And be set with a crippling debt for the rest of your life) then take it again, otherwise a comunity college may be the best offer.

I'm going to take it again in June, I took a class through my school but I'm going to try a private/one on one tutor this time

i never took it and i didn't do any practice before and i got a 24. I think the practice is good to help. I could do a helluva lot better if i tried. I didn't really care that much :/
