I wanted to know people's opinions, because I'm sort of shy and I'm not really confident. Plus I don't know how I would go about it, because parents won't let me go out 1 on 1, so I was wondering how many girls ask guys out, and your opinions on it thanks

I'm not sure how many girls ask guys out, but I'm sure there are plenty out there who do. I'm kind of confused by your question though; I thought you were a guy?

I've had a few girls ask me out before. It does happen quite a bit.

we live in a society where guys are expected to ask girls out. So you don't see many girls asking guys out. My friend at school has been talking to this guy and she likes him and he kind of likes her. I've been telling her to ask him out but she's a little shy. I imagine if she did as him out she would basically do it the same way a guy would

I don't see a problem with it at all, though I think there is a silly expectation it should be the guy to always do it sometimes, which is nonsense to me

I see no problem with it. Although guys do it mostly, but it doesn't hurt if a girl did it.

I have no problem with girls asking people out I think is really sweet and cute. And like SethfromMI said I think it's silly that guys are expected to always make the move.

I don't understand why it's expected that guys ask girls out. It makes no difference at the end of the day

I was the one that asked my now boyfriend out. I don't see the issue with girls asking, nor I understand why the guy is expected to.
On the other hand, don't "expect" girls to do it either- I'm always on the side of ask if you're interested, the worst they can say is no :)

I agree.
I think it's kind of silly that guys are expected to ask girls out most of the time, most guys propose rather than women, guys are also still generally expected to pay for dates, etc.
I've been asked out by one girl before, but I think the majority of the time guys ask out girls.

Actually my mother asked my dad out the first they met and in 6th grade a girl asked me out lol. Girls can ask a guy out but many people think the guy should be the one.

Sorry it took me so long, what I meant was I'm not sure how I would go about asking a girl myself, so I was wondering if there was a chance for me to just wait for one to ask me

Oh, that makes sense :) Well if you want to ask a girl out, you could easily ask her if she'd like to go out sometime, whether it be to the cinema, or local cafe, etc. But if it's clear than she likes you too, then I guess you can wait to see if she'll ask you out or not :)
