A quesion about reporting posts

When you report a post does the report go out to all the mods/admiins? And when you do so is it anonymous? Or does it display the username of the person who reported? Thanks in advance.

It goes to a place where all staff can read it. And it's not anonymous. Also specific moderators of that forum are e-mailed.

OK also, about how long does it take for staff to look into it and do they return a message asking more, or telling you their feedback?

Normallly we don't have to ask questions. We can just go to the thread and look. Also the time for response just depends on when a staff member is online. It's usually pretty fast.

Oh, thanks for answering my question. I am just kind of... hesitant to report a post even when I am pretty sure it's one that needs repoting, because I don't want to mess up and report something that shouldn't be reported and have all the mods know. lol. Thanks.

Don't be afraid to report a post if its breaking the rules, just take the chance.

I know, I'm always pretty sure of that in the back of my head, it's just that, messing up here a couple times I have an irrational fear of messing up again.

I have a question that relates to this. If a thread in a diary is reported, is the diary owner/mod[s] informed?

I dunno, it is plausible since if you looked at the old forum leaders thing, it showed the diary owners as the ones in charge of that forum.

If you mean "Is it anonymous to the author who is being reported?" then yes. In other words, if you were to report a post of someone you thought was spamming, fighting, or otherwise, the person would not even know that their post was reported, although they may get an infraction for it from the staff member that sorts the issue. So in that way, it is anonymous. :)

No, I was asking about it being anonymous to the staff who are recieving it, but it's also good to know that it's anonymous to the person youare reporting.
