Into The Light

Just a random poem I made. It was actually a school assignment, we had to write a poem about butterflies, as it was, and this is what I came up with.

Into The Light

Waiting forever, always so still,
Waiting in darkness as black as the night.
Changing forever, changing until,
I come out of the darkness and into the light.

The sun shines down, the light it brings
Warming and bright, aiding my flight.
I stretch my wings, fragile wings,
And fly out of the darkness and into the light.

I come to rest, after so long,
And cannot get up, try as I might.
I slowly fade, to the darkness beyond,
But even in darkness I remember the light.

For even in darkness there always is light.

Thanks, not to brag or anything, but I think it's one of my best works. I find it frustrating, however, that I cannot just write poems like this, it just randomly happens sometimes... It would really help if I could write poems like this more often...
