Are we still together?

My (ex/not ex) boyfriend an I met 4 years ago (when we were 9/10) and we decided we'd get together. We've never gone to the same school. And now I haven't seen him in a year and the year before that I only saw him once.
I've got to the point in my life where I want to try things and meet people. Are we still together? Can I find a new BoyFriend without upsetting him? And if I do move on how do I deal with him? For all I know he might have already moved on and I don't want to make it awkward because in a few years we might end up at the same college doing the same A-Levels... Help!
P.S. I don't have facebook or his number, but I do know where he lives.
P.P.S. I was the one to ask him out
PPPS I know alot of people that go to his school so I don't want him spreading things around about me (even though I don't think he would).

Yeah if you've not seen him in that long it's safe to assume that you're not still together.

People in a relationship tend to talk and see eachother more often really so if you wanted to date someone else I'd say you're all good to do so.

I would definitely lean towards the advice you already been giving. I mean, you could ask, but after a year....well you could always ask to clarify

I'm pretty sure your not together. If I didn't speak to my gf for a year, I know that she wouldn't consider us in a relationship.
