Nipple question

So,as I was getting ready to take a shower,I felt some sticky substance on one of my nipples which was weird.After my shower,I noticed there was some whitish stuff on it?! What is this? Is it breast milk? I don't think guys ever get that.:confused:

I don't know what that is, but it's best to ask your doctor about it. While unusual, there are instances where boys lactate, that is produce milk or at the least go through the process of it. It could be from some kind of medicine you took a long time ago for something; there are instances of that being the case and happening. Of course, there's no way to know for sure without doctor examination and opinion.

Your best bet is to, as I've been saying, is to talk with your doctor. Don't get too worried about it now; only be worried if the doctor tells you something troubling about it. Until then, just relax and wait for your doctor's medical opinion.

Okay thanks.It was only a little bit,not even a drop.It has stopped now and it's never happened before so I don't think a doctor visit is necessary unless it happens again.

Still, it's best to go to the doctor regardless. Even if something only happens once, it could still be significant for the doctors to know.

I wouldn't bother seeing a doctor unless it returns as it is possible for males to produce breast milk as well, nowhere in the proportions of women mind you

Maybe it's tree sap? Thats the only sticky thing I can think of that doesn't wash off easily

I never take my shirt off outside really because of my acne.So,I wouldn't get tree sap on there I don't think.

Ok, I had not heard of this before. I had heard of Gynecomastia and when I checked the Wikipedia article on Gynecomastia it mentioned lactation and a Prolactinoma as a possible cause. If there is any repeat of a secretion that could be milk I would go to the doctor.

Yeah I'm unsure. It is most likely not breast milk but I've heard that guys get some amount of estrogen so maybe. Just talk to your doctor or parents if you are really worried or concerned.

It's really not an uncommon thing to experience. I had a few friends in middle school and early high school who went through the same thing. Boys going through puberty can lactate and it does cause a slight bit of pain in your nipples. I did experience this as well, but only for about a week or two - as for my friends, they seemed to lactate a bit longer than I did.

Everyone's telling you to see a doctor but if it only happened once and it was just a tiny drop, then there's really no need to in my opinion

Thanks for all your replies,especially Coleton.I knew I heard it was possible in sex ed and that told me I wasn't the only one.It hasn't happened again so I'm not worried now. :)

If you have nipples, you can lactate.
However, if it happens again you should probably go to a doctor.
