What is your parents opinion about swearing?

My mom is comfortable with it but she's not a fan. She doesn't really ever swear around me except sometimes and I swear around her a little bit but not much. My dad and I never swear around each other. My parents never did when we were kids and I didn't find out what swear words even were until I was 8 or 9. I was a pretty sheltered kid.

Honestly, my parents don't really care about swearing as long as it's not directed at them.
Yes, I swear around them, but I try not to.

My parents are pretty okay with it as long as I don't get carried away. The odd swear word is accepted if used wisely. My mum is a bit stricter than my dad

My mother only hates the "C word", I don't use that around her. Other than that it's okay.

mom would probably be annoyed, dad probably wouldn't give a shit since he sometimes swears around me, doesn't matter too much since I don't swear around them anyways

I try not to swear. if I get made enough sometimes it comes out, but it is just something I try not to do

I was never allowed to swear as a kid, even though my dad always did and still does. my mom is pretty easily offended and didn't even allow me to say "rude" words like piss and crap, much less actual profanity.

I don't really swear in front of my parent's unless I've hurt myself. My dad swears in front of me or at me without a problem, my mum only swears when she's hurt herself. If I'm with friends parents I swear no problem but if friends swear when there with my parents I look at them like shut the fuck up.

I don't usually swear at home (out loud lol) unless I am really upset or angry, and my mom knows this. She doesn't have a problem with it, since it's not really normal conversation for me.

Yep I swear quite a lot so does my dad we swear at each other with no problems my mum doesn't really swear but doesn't mind me doing so. There's something just so stress relieving about swearing

My mom and I will use minor swear words around each other in english, like shit, damn, and very rarely a fuck (mostly me)...when my mom gets really upset with me, she'll start cursing at me in Italian, I think its hilarious. I've heard my dad yell things in the distance, but he rarely curses around me or my mom.

Lol, it used to be a forbidden thing until the last couple of years. Now my mum swears in front of me and I just swear out of habit and my mum's like "oh whatever, you're an adult, I'm not gonna stop you". She tried her best to teach me not to but she's accepted that I learned my swear words elsewhere.

i say the occasional "shit" or "damn" but i don't think they'd tolerate any more than that.

My parents have "sworn" around me basically my entire life. (I hate calling it swearing or cussing or whatever, I'm adding character to my language) I say shit to my mom all the time bc she's basically Satan and deserves to hear it, as for my dad it's a very nonchalant thing.

Same here ^. Honestly, some swear words took me as long as 13 years of age to understand, and it's not really fun when you don't get what half the kids your age are saying :hmm:

My parents dislike it in general, but I use it anyways. Stopped giving a fuck when I realised that if someone, who apparently is trying to listen and help me, is offended by how extreme my situation is, they're not really interested.

i don't swear normally, have even been teased about it but in a friendly way. if my parents swear i've never heard them.

I do not swear/cuss near my parents. My mother gets offended and she will be shocked. My father is a bit more tolerant.

My mum is practically how I learnt most swear words. Growing up from about 7-12 we used to argue all the time and I'd get them thrown at me. So she's kind of a hypocrite when she scolds me for swearing but still she doesn't make a big deal about it when I do.

My dad never swears, only when he's really angry so I have to watch my mouth around him since he hates swearing (plus if I do he just tells me I sound like my mother and that shuts me up). Since profanity practically makes up 75% of my vocabulary its kind of hard sometimes.

But truthfully I've become so accustomed to using swear words as 'just another word' I forget to filter sometimes and end up swearing infront of teachers or my friends parents and that's when things start getting awkward.

My parents don't like swearing especially my dad. I kind of went through a period where I swore a lot but now I really don't like swearing. It feels weird, it leaves a weird feeling in my mouth.

I swear constantly, and it's kind of a problem, but I'd never swear in front of my mom. I'm not really sure how she's react to it if I did. idk it's seems disrespectful to me. My mom cusses sometimes, but only when she's really pissed or she's been hanging out with her friends too much lol

When it comes to swearing, I think my mom doesn't really care but my dad kinda does lol. When my mom gets angry or frustrated, she swears but my dad not that much, and I usually do not swear to anyone except to myself lol.
I don't really care if others swear, but I just don't really like swearing publicly and usually reserve it whenever I want to make an impact lol. It's actually pretty funny when other people who swear left and right hear me swear and get really shocked xD

My parents don't really care unless we have someone special over to our house like grandparents or something, but I know not to swear around them anyway. I usually don't curse around them but it comes out every now and then, we kind of laugh it off.
