I'm going to sound so whiny now, but i'm going to post this anyway. My school-friends keep making me the third wheel in basically everything we do together. I'm kind of the social butterfly of the class, so i get why i got in this position, but they're getting a little extreme. They are both german exchange students, and keep speaking GERMAN, which i dont understand AT ALL almost all of the time, even if i repeatedly remind them that I DO NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD. They also sometimes TEXT eachother while i'm sitting right next to them. Yeah, like i dont see that seriously ITS BLATANTLY obvious. I dont even know why i still bother hanging out with them. :whoops::confused: Has anybody else had a similar experience of being the third wheel, and are you still or how did you get out of that situation?

That is really rude that they are doing this in front of you! They obviously know that you have no idea what they are saying!
I've never really gone through the same thing, so I really can't help!

Fuck hanging round with ignorant twats that don't even converse in the same language as you when you are supposed to be involved in the conversation. I would just leave like right now, right away, fuck them, fuck that.

learn german curse words so you can tell when they are calling you names

Look, one thing you have to understand about this, is that when you go to another country that doesn't speak your own language, it becomes a bit a novelty to be able to speak to someone in your own tongue. It's quite a constricting feeling. So I don't blame them that they both speak to each other in German, after all not only do they get to speak German to some one, but they have the same culture. In the same way that an American understands American TV references, they understand German ones. Maybe they are just so comfortable around each other that they just accidentally slip back into German and have to be reminded, however I do see your point but let's be realistic here, almost all couples (in my experience) text each other when in a social group. Your best bet is just giving them space to be a couple.

Yeah I always end up being the third wheel among my friends. Its rough and I am usually left out of things, but I am slowly getting out of it

Have you tried talking with them and ask why they appear to be ignoring/disrespecting you?

I have a very similar problem with who used to be one of my best friends. Im sorry thats happening but maybe theyre not worth hangong around. What I did is just let my friend do what he wants and if he really cares or anything he would say so.
