What should my school be doing

Hello.

New to this forum but I need some urgent help.

My friend (call him Bob) received some indecent images from his bestmate (call him fred) and they have fallen out now over Fred's new girlfriend.

Fred sent the pictures 2 weeks before he started going out with this girl but now Bob is threatening to tell people.

What should the school be doing about this?
Shouldn't they be arranging meetings to prevent this from happening?

The school should get the police in depending on their age. However the school won't want that. Fred should of thought about it before sending the pictures. Bob needs to deal with the fact his best mate has a gf, and should be happy for him. If bob was to show the pictures around school the school could take his phone.

I would of thought that the school would at least try and get Bob and Fred too sit down and talk so the situation remains calm and the pictures aren't shared/shown

Fred is probably embarrassed about it so I understand why he doesn't want to talk. + if bob is a best mate he wouldn't show the pictures

I think fred should tell his gf what he did If she doesn't know. Then bob has nothing over him.
or
Fred and bob need to talk about it out of choice not at school with a teacher. If they still want to be friends they will work it out. But it takes time. I've fall out with a best friend for half a year but we made up cos we still cared about each other.
