Indirectly, you could do something ghetto and put dumbbells on your back do pushups, or you could do a pec fly or overhead press/military press.

there are some different exercises you could do. I would recommend having someone show you at the gym or look up some video/proper instruction online, just so you don't do anything which may possible hurt yourself

yes if you do the right exercises in the correct way. maybe you could check out a gym and see how it should be done. Its not all about actual weight but number of reps and correct movement.

You could do dumbbell fly's. Lay on your back with arms out to the sides. Then bring them up to your chest. Laying on a bench works better.

Has anyone in this thread ever lifted before??? There are several exercises you can do to work chest with dumbbells. Dumbbell bench press, floor press, chest flyes, dumbbell pullovers, incline and decline variations of these things if you have an adjustable bench. A google search should answer your question.
