Too old to have wet dreams?

Hey guys. So this is a big question I wanna ask. I got a lot of wet dreams at 12/13, and then dying off at 14. And I haven't had one since. But now, just turned 17, I've had like four this passed two weeks. Aren't I too old to be having wet dreams? Is it cause I'm more prone to them? Anybody 17 or older still get them?

I know they are usually viewed as a young person thing and I can think of some reasons for that view, but these may well not apply to you.

1. For a long time most written material didn't ackowledge masturbation as a legitmate sexual outlet. Given that ejaculating deliberately less, or not at all, seems to make wet dreams more likely, the assumption would be that young guys (who, of course didn't masturbate) would have wet dreams but then when they got a steady girlfriend or got married and thus had sex available more readily the wet dreams would stop.

2. Related to the above some guys seem to develop to the point of being able to ejaculate without having discovered masturbation. That situation may not persist very long but while it lasts those guys would be more likely to get wet dreams.

3. It's known that after a peak in the teens testosterone levels gradually decline with age. If the frequency with which one has to ejaculate deliberately to avoid wet dreams is connected to testosterone level then that may make wet dreams less likely with increasing age.

No. 3 is almost certainly not applicable at 17 which is likely to be the peak, or close to it, in testosterone level. After that the decline is very gradual.

you do have them less as you get older. also effected by how much you masturbate and have sex. other factors go into it as well

yah, 15 for me, but I've woken up pretty close a few times during the night and finished it with a jack off, that may be why I don't get them, I usually have sex or jack off daily, so it don't think I ever build up that much backup....

I don't think you can ever be too old to have a wet dream just the chances of them happening decreases because the older you get the less raging your hormones are.

There is no age to b too old to have wet dreams. Usually adults have them less frequently.

Your'e not to old to get them. The older you get the less frequent the happen. I had one when I was 18.

I think there is a time when they begin to stop, but I have seen other posts where boys who are 17 have been saying that they continue to have them

I'm 15 and still have them (started when I was 13 almost 14). I used to get 4 or 5 a week, I get fewer now (maybe 2 a week). I think its because I orgasm more when I am not asleep, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it.

I don't think that there's an age you stop getting them at but after like 4 years without one and for them to all of a sudden start coming (no pun intended) again is quite bizarre. Nothing out of the ordinary though.
