Okay. So I'm curious. My period has been off the wall crazy. I've been have from 2 to 3 periods a month... And I'm being put on birth contol to help regulate it.
I wanna know which type is better. I have a choice between the pill, the patch, or the shot...
Which do you think would help me the most?
What are the side effects of each one?
Thanks!

You should discuss with your doctor the advantages and disadvantages each type and then decide.

The thing is my mom hasn't taken me to the doctor. She's gonna take me to the health department where I live. So should I discuss it with the people there about it? I haven't went yet but my mom said I had to go on it...

I would prefer the pill, but I agree with Rachel check with ur doctor first to see what will be best for you...

I would say you only you with some professional help will know what's suits you best. Also ALWAYS use a condom.

The shot is more convenient for me because I like just going every few months to get it done. The pill is good if you can remember to take it...but from what I know of my friends it also makes your boobs grow (sometimes almost a full cup size) which can really hurt. I couldn't tell if mine did because of the shot or not, I think it was just natural growth because it wasn't that much.

Go with whatever works best for you but know that for the most part the shot can only be done for 2 years, where as other alternatives can be used on a more long term basis. Pay attention to side effects for any of them such as weight gain and depressive thoughts.

I had implant when I was 16, but I had to have it removed last October because they only last so long. It made my period much lighter and not as often. I didn't get it replaced because I was getting sick and I wasn't really having sex becasue I'd split up with my boyfriend. Now with my new man at uni when we have intercourse he either has a condom or he comes on my belly. I think the pill probably gives you best control on your periods but you have to take it every day.

A few years ago the doctor and my mom agreed that the pill was the best way to go for me.My periods were tough but the pill helps a lot.Like the others said, you have to remember to take it.

IUD. Can't go wrong, use condoms against the STDs.
