I started cutting when i was 14. I did it at first because it felt good. I did iton my left arm. Just a couple lines. I didnt do it again for 3 years. Inbetween i stared getting realy bad anxiety. Spontaneous crying on a good day, choking on my breath paralized at random monment of stress., and so on. It got to the point that i was screaming in my head. Only one fraze over and over: RUN WHY DONT YOU LISTEN TO ME RUN. Just a few weeks ago i remembered my first cuts. So i picked up an exacto knife and put it to my thigh. I dont know if i want to stop. I dont want to go back to feeling that way constantly. Everyonce in awhile but not constantly. Thoughts?

Hey sorry to hear about your situation you need to talk to a therapist they are fully qualified and supposed to be confidential. Or if there is someone who you trust try speaking to them too. Also try and stop the cutting it's dangerous it could end really badly if you have an accident. If you want to talk more about it I don't have pm yet but I'm happy to listen on here :)

Addiction is a hell of a hard thing to get rid of.

It's hard when you start to keep it at just every so often, you could find yourself doing it more and more until it's out of your control. And even if you do manage to control it, cutting every so often can leave you with scars you'll regret for the rest of your life. Before you resort to cutting try other things to cope, perhaps doing some kind of exercise like running, or writing or doing art. Find something that releases the tension but isn't so destructive.

First thing's first, an exacto knife is probably one of the worst things you could cut with, depending on how much of the blade you had sticking out and what it's usual use is. If you are going to cut, you should use something that cannot slice open blood vessels that easily and a little more sterile. That being said, I understand where you are coming from because I also used to cut. Just think about how worried someone you care about would be if they saw any of the cuts, that's what helped me stop (although, cuts were spotted). I still occasionally do but I use blades still in a razor to avoid cutting too deep and I manage to stop myself most of the time. I hope you can get through this! I'm still struggling too.

Its a disorder and relapses can happen.
