Hey guys, so once a week my school has a fitness day, this week's was brutal and has left me so sore in my buttocks and legs that it hurts to get up and walk, and when going to sit down, I little look like an old man when getting in and out of a chair, and my gait when walking is strained too.
Does anyone know what I can do to relieve my muscle soreness?

You'll just have to wait it out. You should be feeling better in a few days. If you don't work out often, soreness is inevitable when you do. Drink water, stretch, and get enough sleep, it might help with the soreness, but probably not substantially.

Listen to Mike :)
Same happened to me when I started the gym. It will disappear in a couple of days.

this. you can soak in a bath, could get something like icy hot/heating pad/etc. if you are super sore, you could get some pain reliever (Alieve, etc)
but a lot of times if it is not an injury thing it is just a matter of waiting it out

it will pass but for sure a soak in the tub and some stretching and gentle exercise.
Prevention is better than cure and a good warm up and down after is best also keep moving after exercise and this encourages blood flow - hydration is important as well.

I mean if your muscles feel tight obviously stretch daily and use a foam roller is you have one. Honestly the best investment I ever made, it helps get out all those little knots in your muscles. Plus if you start to work out more your body won't fell as sore because it will know to produce less lactic acid.

Dude, honestly this is normal. I'm in grade 12 of highschool and I am attending a weight training class. A few weeks ago I started doing squats with 60lbs on by neck and lunges with 50lb dumbbells. After the first day I woke up and every muscle in my body was seized up and I could not move. I had to though since I drive my sisters to school everyday. The best remedy is muscle cream, hot showers and resting.
As for me, I did all of this but I also self administrate marijuana into my system to relieve pain and anxiety. I am not suggesting this but it was my way of helping with relaxation and taking my mind off the pain. If you don't do this, then don't start, it's just my own story.

No pain no gain! Drink lots of water and apply deep heat/bengay (depending on where you live) to the worst areas. It'll fade within a few days. Now keep exercising those muscles an build them up! You're already in the worst of it!

Another thing no one has mentioned is don't try to work out or push yourself in the few days after. A lot of people think if you work through it, you'll get over it faster but you're actually more likely to cause an actual injury. Lots of beginners can only work out once every few days because your body needs a decent rest in between because it's not used to the additional strain you put on it. I don't know if you planned on continuing since this is a late reply but if you do and it happens again, try to avoid anything too strenuous anyway until you feel like you can move more like usual.

Yeah..fitness days are hard...I've never worked out and I end up huffing and puffing in few miniutes, then I sweat buckets.!!!!..I'm pretty unfit and more so now that I'm not skinny as I used to be..To make stuff worse the PE teacher picks on me and makes fun of me too.

after a few days it should go away, I would suggest stretching before and after. It would help reduce soreness in the future

Yeah that's normal. Hot shower and rest is all I need though.

Stretching before and after doing physical activity I'll help it a lot. That will also improve flexibility. The soreness you feel is acid build up in your muscles due to lack of oxygen.

Just wait it out. Try to if it doesn't hurt too much to walk around a bit. That really should help.

stretching will help but the best thing you can do i do more exercise even running for ten minutes twice a week will loosen your muscles, i used to do really intense once a week for two hours and would be shattared but added two runs to my week annd feel so much better honestly.
