These body proportion things are never true, there are always people who don't fit into it, and people that fit into it do because they're very subjective and some people just happen to have big feet, or longer ring fingers, or whatever it is.

On my left hand (my dominant hand) it's my ring finger, but on my other hand, it's my index finger.

Indeed the Wikipedia Digit Ratios page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio) makes interesting reading. It also cites references. Reading that it is no surprise to find that most guys here are reporting longer ring fingers as that is closer to the mean for a guy.

So, rather than asking which digit is shorter getting the ratio would be better, i.e. index finger length divided by ring finger length. Units don't matter (as it is a ratio) but measuring in mm is probably the most practical rather than trying to work in fractions of an inch.

Mine is 0.948, very close to the mean of 0.947.
