EDIT: Just saw this thread was from March. Should keep my eyes open. Sorry for bumping.

1. How does depression affect with your school work?
-Don't have a school life, due to me dropping out of college.

2. How does depression affect your social life?
-LOL, I don't have a social life.

3. Do you think there is enough being done to educate us about teenage depression and ways we can treat it?
- Nope, the teachers in America told me I'm depressed cuz I don't go outside. European teachers tell me i'm depressed cuz I don't eat much. Logic is real here.

4. How does How does depression affect your thoughts and has it changed the things you do when your are alone?
-Yes, sometimes when i'm depressed I get this unease from the dark. I also run away to the mountains when i'm acutely depressed.

5. Have you noticed a sudden change in the things that you once liked?
-Yep.

6 How does depression affect your relationship with your family?
- They hardly convey words to me, either way.

1. How does depression affect with your school work?
It doesn't. If anything, I kinda use it as a way to get rid of my depression. I try to do hard math problems or if there is a hard test coming up I just get flashcards and write the answers on the back and play a memory game of it, to see if I can match the definitions with the words. It's kinda fun.

2. How does depression affect your social life?
If some of my friends want to hang out or go somewhere and I'm not in the mood, I usually come up with a fake excuse as to why I can't make it. If I am going through a depressive episode, I'd rather be left alone, and I would just want to be by myself. I don't want to soil anyone else's attitude or vibe because I am upset. I don't want people to feel sorry for me, and I'd rather stay inside or stay alone until I feel better.

3. Do you think there is enough being done to educate us about teenage depression and ways we can treat it?
Of course not. Mental health issues in general are not really talked about. In all of these sitcoms and movies about youth on Disney channel and Nickelodeon and crap, none of them really talk about real issues that we go through and it really pisses me off. Parents need to be a little more accepting of it as well.

4. How does How does depression affect your thoughts and has it changed the things you do when your are alone?
I am able to be more creative. Like I write stories and just write about my day in a notebook sometimes, and due to my depression it makes me easier to do that. I don't mind being alone sometimes, and usually if I am depressive, I don't have a choice but to keep to myself and I quite enjoy it.

5. Have you noticed a sudden change it the things that you once like?
I have, I would enjoy going skateboarding, surfing, swimming, going to the amusement park and water parks and stuff. I don't anymore, because I get too depressed and again I don't like leaving the house when I get into a mood like that.

6.How does depression affect your relationship with your family?
It's difficult. I mean I have explained it to them a couple times, but they don't understand. They assume I just need to go outside and stop playing video games. It has to do with our family history. They are not really big into understanding on mental health issues, so it is hard to get across things like that. I hope over time, I am able to reach a place to where they can relate to me.
