Ucsc???

Last week I had my junior college counseling meeting. They prep us for the application process for senior year. There I was given a list of colleges that they thought would be good for me (based on different factors). They asked me what other school do I want to put on the list and I said, University of California, Santa Cruz. They looked at me funny, because I guess UCSC has a rep of being a "stoner" school. But, I'm not really a drug person, should this school's rep be a huge factor of whether or not I should apply to go there?

Ask yourself why do you really want to go there? Is it the size of the school? Is it the location? Is it the campus? Is it the residency? Think of what the point of college is- to earn a degree in a certain major. If you have a specific major, you may want to look at good colleges for that major. If you're smart, I would consider UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara or UC Irvine, as those are better schools but not as competitive as USC or UCLA. I don't mean to be rude but Santa Cruz isn't the best of the California public universities. You should go to a school that is a match for you or even challenges your academic ability.
