He throws pens and stuff at me in class, makes stupid faces, tries to make me laugh. He also looks at me sometimes. I noticed him staring a few times.
But I still think that he has a crush on this girl, that he likes for a few months now... although the feeling might be fading. I also asked him out cause I like him, but that was a long time ago, and he said no... but I guess that it's because of that girl.

It really depends on how old you guys are. If you are a valid dating age (at LEAST 14), then he's very immature. A mature person either does nothing or goes straight forward. It's really your call. You should try talking to him, be interested in stuff he likes. If he doesn't like you, there are other people for you (at least that's what they say, I'm still waiting :/)

It seems to me that he does like you. I would pursue it if I were you. You do want to be careful, because you could risk losing a friend.
