Is there any way to hide individual threads as opposed to entire forums? If not, would it be a reasonable implementation?

I think this would be a cool feature, but unfortunately there isn't an addon for this. I looked and found a really old one, but it's not supported by vBulletin anymore, and it's not a good idea to install that, sorry.
