I think it was always there, but at about 10 or so I started really noticing guys more, but I kept telling myself I still liked girls because... I don't know. It was what I felt was "normal" I guess. By the time I was 13/14 I just accepted I was gay and just liked guys. You just know!

...how are you straight and telling someone how lesbian or gay people feel?

I don't call myself lesbian for a few reasons, but as I am primarily attracted to girls, I can try to answer. I knew I was attracted to girls when I noticed them and appreciated them in ways I couldn't when it came to boys. And those ways aren't necessarily attraction as much as just acknowledgements - there is something fundamentally different in the way I see girls versus the way I see guys. This is difficult for me to explain, since for me, there's no sexual component (I tentatively identify as asexual). I imagine that having a sexual component would make it clearer. There's also the fact that I developed crushes on girls, but that came secondary.

I'm kinda newly Bi-romantic identifying, but for one as a young kid (around 6 or 7) i would think "why do guy's and girls have to marry? why can't guy's marry guy's and girl's marry girls? then i could marry me best friend." This later lead me to be a huge gay rights activist, and to meet some LBGT people, one of which, a really really close friend of mind I've developed feelings for. So really, at first I was confused, cause I'm more emotionally attracted to her, not sexually. I was unsure, it felt weird, I didn't know how to identify, but later I came on here, and got loads of help
