View Full Version : How to not feel so lonely during the day?

I'm at home all day due to medical circumstances, my mom leaves in the morning and doesn't come back until usually mid-afternoon or so. I feel empty being at home alone all the time, I try and distract myself with TV, homework, Internet, etc but nothing works. I also try and cuddle my cats but it doesn't feel the same...
Sometimes I can go over to my grandma's during the day and that makes me feel a little better, but I haven't been able to do that recently. I actually used to love being alone, but then I was in the hospital for over a week with someone by my side 24/7 and I guess I just have this subconscious fear of people leaving and never coming back. :( What do I do?

Im sorry you have not been well, my deal is I had an op on my knee so I am stuck home missing school and my friends. I have a routine of sorts that seems to help fill in the time.
I think also if you have not been well its easier to feel down and then you might worry about things. Hope you feel better soon.

This might seem stupid but do you play any video games? Just go on there and find some people to chat with through out the day.

blah. that's rough... I grew up sort of neglected, but you have to realize that although your feelings are real they aren't always true. sometims I write about stuff that bugs me. maybe seems strange but it helps.

That is rough. I'm sorry to hear that you were in hospital and I hope you're feeling better and recovering well~ Are you allowed to have friends over? If you are then maybe arrange for a friend to come over and accompany you? If you aren't allowed then maybe just call up a friend just to chat? Or you could ask a relative/other family member to come over and spend time with you and again if they can't then you could call them too and just chat. I hope you're able to work something out so you're not too lonely.
