Is it possible to have a sexual infection/disease without having sex

Nope. That's why it's called sexually transmitted.

That said some STDs can also be picked up, for instance, by drug use.

No lie.... there's thoughts that it was from people having contact (sexual or otherwise) with animals. Then there's always the conspiracy theory... but you could ask how anyone got any disease man.... things mutate overtime and do crazy things.

I wouldn't sweat it though. If you are a virgin and take care of yourself, you won't suddenly start the newest std lol

It depends what you mean by sex, some infections can be picked by oral sex. However if you include oral sex in sex then it's hard to pick up an STI but I guess it could happen.

it definitely is a possibility to consider but if I was the OP I would not worry about being a STD if he is a virgin. doesn't hurt to go get checked out though

You can get HIV/AIDS by sharing needles and things like that, too. It's also possible to be born with HIV.

I'm pretty sure HIV came from monkeys. That's what I remember from some Citizenship lesson a few years ago. I could be wrong. People who are born with HIV usually have it because their mother had it whilst pregnant.

as others say an STI is passed on during sex that is why its called sti.

But for example Type on herpes can be infected with kissing and the carrier may not be aware they have it.

No but yes... You can have it if your parent had it while pregnant .. So you'll be born with aids

I hope this is allowed but here's a link about STD's

Kissing
Oral Sex
Dry Sex
Indirect Contact

Basically it says yes it's possible to get it from ways without sex but unlikely except being born with certain things

i dont think its possible to contract an std without having sex, unless, of course, you come into contact with some contaminated bodily fluids. but then how are you defining sex?

I know a kid who is uncut and he got an infection under his foreskin. It wasn’t really sexual but it ultimately led to him asking to get circumcised

HIV/AIDS was originally SIV (Simian Immunodeficiency Virus). Humans contracted the virus (which originally died once entering human) from poorly cooked monkeys and other such primates, but over time the virus acclimated to live inside the human body (which was easier than other viruses from other animals, given the similarities between humans and other primates) and then further spread through blood and sexual contact, human-to-human

You can also get a vaginal infection from masturbation with a dirty unwashed carrot or cucumber or something like that which has bacteria on it. It may not be a STD like Chlamydia, Herpes, or Gonorrhea, but it is still an infection from bacteria.

I believe it might be possible if your parts (penis, vagina) touch an unclean surface which has previously been in contact with someone else's parts who is infected.
The probability of this is unlikely, but could be possible in public toilets (you wouldn't want to touch dirty things there though).

Yeah that's not a thing :D
You answered your own question.
You can't have a "sexual infection" without having sex.

But then again,
Various rashes aren't necessarily STDs though and those are things you can contract through excess sweating and constant friction from clothing.

Interesting. I didn't know that, but I do remember hearing it having to do with monkeys and a well traveled flight attendant.

stds are normally more like water-born illnesses but they have to touch skin
