I'm 13 and I've had my period for three years. I've recently wanted to start using tampons because I really hate sitting in my own blood. So I've tried last month to get it with no luck, and I'm trying again this time. (I got it again today, I tried it started hurting)

My friend got it in on her first try, no pain. My other friend got it in on her third try, not pain. My other friend has been using tampons since she first got her period.

I've had mine for three years, and nothing is working.

So when I did try I used a mirror and, well, tried to stick it up my vagina. I only got it so far when it started hurting.

So I tried my finger to make sure I was angling it right and I only got to my first digit when it started hurting.

Is this my hymen? If so, how can I naturally break it without me forcing it. (I'm a virgin..)

I'm also sort of thinking my vaginal opening is too small. It just looks small to me. (Sorry for the image lol)

I talked to my mom about getting tampax pearl active. I don't know, I might go see a gyne if it doesn't work.:confused:

Not an expert (and far from being an expert), but I'm gonna share my experience.
I'm also 13, almost 14, and I've been having my period for almost two years now. I use tampons and pads, and sometimes I get a heavy flow so I have to use both, which is not hat often. And with me, a lot depends on what I am doing whether I will use a tampon or a pad.
The first thing I would suggest is that you relax as much as possible when you are inserting the tampon in. Yes, that's easer said than done, especially if you're having difficulty putting it in. Some say that it has to be at the exact angle or it won't go in right. You may want to look at a picture of what the inside of your vagina looks like so you have a better idea of what angle you should use. I've never had an issue with that, though.
As far as your vaginal opening being too small to insert a tampon, I seriously doubt that.
And as far as your hymen, that should not be an issue when you insert a tampon
I hope you are using an applicator, and if you are just go slow when you push the applicator.
I hope it works out for you! If all else fails, go to your female doctor and maybe she can assist you!

I had to have my older sis help me when I was 11 for like the first year using tampons.

I know when I use tampons and I have not had my period as long as you even though I am 13 like you, I use Tampax Pearl Lite Tampons. These tampons fit me very well because they are designed slimmer and are used by girls who are petite(like me) and also kind of new to having their period. The only thing is you can only use these when you flow is light. I almost always have a light to medium flow so these work well for me. If you have a heavy flow I would say use them with pads as well just in case you leak.

Gurl , I know what you are going through
First of all : RELAX !! take your time , dont worry. My first tampon took me like 30 min hehe
You should read the instructions carefully , they are really clear :)
Maybe your sister/mom/friend can help you , ask them !!
Good luck ^^

Honey, it sounds like you might need some help from your Mom when you are inserting your tampon. I remember when I started my period I was a little nervous at first about putting a tampon in and because I was nervous I had a tough time doing it. My Mom helped me and although it is a little awkward having you Mom help you it is much better than dealing with the pain if it isn't going in right.
