I looked through the last 4 pages of this thread and couldn't find anything about this move, so if it's a repost, sorry!
But anyhow, I watched this movie for the first time the other day, and wow!!
It was very intense! Especially the scene after the bombing!
Just want to know what you all thought about the movie The Book Thief!

I read the book a few years ago based on a recommendation from a friend and loved it, even cried reading it. So when the movie came out, we took the first opportunity to go, when it was only available in select theaters. Turned out that not only were we some of the first people to see the movie, but we actually got to meet Markus Zusak himself. One of the best days of my life, for sure.
As for the movie quality - I'm not a great judge of cinematography and whatnot, but I enjoyed it. I cried a lot. My friend described it as "kitschy."

I've seen the film twice I really enjoyed it. It reminds me a bit of the boy in the striped pajamas
In the sense it's a child's view in war time something you don't see a lot
