I found most of my favorite bands through friends of mine, most of whom have impeccable tastes in music :P
For more "out there" bands/composers, I've found Spotify playlists for specific genres or instruments to be very beneficial. And clicking around on YouTube, of course.

A lot of what I listen to is what I heard when I was younger (from my mom, brother). I have been meaning to try something like Spotify to find some new stuff, but I cba to pay for it (or really mess with it) right now. #lazy

YouTube suggestions side bar.

Really, the YouTube suggestions is an AMAZING place to look for new artists. First you're looking at a band you know, then a slightly different one, and before you know it you switched genres completely! And you never just click one video, you always open two or three and you gotta take a break because it's exponential :P

Found Persader from a thrash track. Boy, was I surprised.

I learned about a lot of my favorite musical artists from my brothers, friends, parents, and found a lot of them on my own via the internet, or from going to see bands play live, and seeing other bands open up the show for them.

I saw a pic of Austin Mahone, thought he was hot, so I had to figure out who it was, and ended up really liking his music

Mostly just the radio/cd's etc, but I've also discovered a few on YouTube.

Through friends, school, tv, the radio and the Internet. In my spare time I like searching up good music artists and their songs, and if I'm not doing that then I'm listening to amazing music by my current favourite music artists.

I found Marina and the Diamonds from the signature of Ouija years ago

I found Lana Del Rey from the radio!

I found Pierce the Veil from a random girl's instagram post which contained lyrics from their song ''Bullet Proof Love''

I found Sleeping with Sirens, Panic! at the Disco and My Chemical Romance from the suggestions box on youtube due to the fact I listened to Pierce the Veil.

I found The Killers from a TV show

I found Blink 182 from the radio :D

I found Silverstein from MySpace back in 2008 which I joined in 2006 because my cousin told me about it. (My cousin also told me about MCR when their Black Parade album first came out, she's a cool cousin.)

I found Beartooth through Caleb Shomo (the lead singer) because I used to like him in Attack Attack!

I found Get Scared because I was obsessed with Craig Mabbitt's voice for a while and he had featured in their song Sarcasm.

I found The Dead Rabbitts through Escape The Fate because they share a lead singer.

My friend brought some Eminem cassettes back in the first grade haha. At first I didnt understand it, I just liked the sound but as I learned English and started going through some bad shit I could really relate to it.
