Hey guys, I'm new to this but I have a burning question. I have been uncut all my life and am considering getting cut. We can afford it and all, but I'm afraid that I might not be able to last a week without wanting, and I'm afraid of lost sensitivity. So for anyone who has been cut in their teens or recent years please tell me your thoughts. Thanks and btw I'm 15

Idk I just feel like it would feel better, and look better

Why would it be better or look better?
It does remove sensitivity, in todays world where you know you can shower daily it does not really do anything for your hygiene.
Also it's basically a archaic practice kept going for all the wrong reasons... The main reason so many men in the US are circumsised is just because ''well mine is as well so little Bobby's should be as well''
Circumsision became popular in the early 20th century mainly because it was supposed to stop youths from the great sin of masturbation!
Now I'm not cut so sorry for not exactly giving you what you wanted in your OP but that's my view on it, don't mutilate your own body for no real reason.

I wouldn't get cut. I thing you have greater sensitivity with foreskin

One question, why would you ever want to do that, don't do it at all uncut is much better

although I am circumcised I was done so as a child. it would be incredibly painful to do now as a teen and then what if you don't like it? think long and hard before you do something like this
edit:I enjoy being cut but again, I was done so as a child, so it is what I know

I got circumcised when I was 11. Is it painful? NOt really.
Lost sensitivy? I feel the opposite. BUt mine is still a bit loose. My uncle did to me, he is doctor. Army doctor to be exact. )

If you search the forums you'll find several guys who had it done as teens, some for medical reasons,
some at parents' insistence, and some because they just wanted it done. You could ask them about
it. Their opinions are probably worth more to you than those of us who are uncut or who were cut as
babies.

Circumcision was done for religious purposes a long time ago(not sure if it is still done for it) but in recent years, circumcision was done to help keep it clean and lessen the chance of infection.

All I can truly say to you is that you're not gaining much from circumcision. Since you've already lived your life uncut, I'm guessing that you are pretty good at keeping it clean and you have so many nerve endings in the foreskin, that again, you'd only be losing from circumcision.

I am in agreement with this, maybe just to a lesser degree. Ultimately it's your decision, honestly I don't think it's worth it to be cut, basically why would you take off something nature decided for you to have? Anyways, it might look better but I think it doesn't bring much else in terms of masturbation and what not.

Had it done as a teen, wasn't that bad. If it's something you really, really want and are comfortable living the rest of your life that way, you can go for it. Just remember there's really no going back.

Do what it is that makes you comfortable.
I am circumcised, so I really can't say if having foreskin is better. I also believe it looks nicer. I can tell you that it is easier to keep clean and wanking is still wanking.
But if you are worried about loosing sensitivity then perhaps don't do it. Of course if you can't handle not being able to wank for a week, well i suppose don't either, but thats a bit of a silly reason haha.
Anyway, do what you want to do. It is your body.

Well I guess I should advise you to think better about your choice.
Because, if you do get "Cut" you will lose alot of sensitivity during masturbation and sex.
Alot, actually. Also with the whole hygiene bullshit, that's just pointless. You can easily just pull back your foreskin and clean it.
Only reason I see to be cut is "looks" or because it can reduce the risk of HIV and shit. But safe sex can as well.

Routine circumcision (ie not for medical or religious reasons) is pretty much unique to the USA nowadays. Perhaps there was a hygiene purpose 100 years ago, but certainly not today. Interestingly, in some African cultures they cut off bits of the female genitals for no reason other than "it looks better" - but on a female it's called mutilation, and is illegal.
This post from another thread on this forum might help in your decision
Hey people, I'm JJ, I'm new around here, ran across the site while looking up circumcision info and ran across all the posts!
A couple years ago I got cut because my father asked me too, siting that it would be cleaner and I'd have less chance of getting STDs and infections... So at the beginning it was awesome, so sensitive and just tingly, I figured, not so bad yano? Now 2 years in and I have got a few urinary tract infections which I never got when I was uncut (apparently cut guys aren't supposed to get UTIs) and that awesome sensitivity, yea all gone, and actually if I'm going to be totally honest I have LOST a LOT of sensitivity too.... I reeaalllly hate being cut now....

I was cut when I was 9, but I have no regrets about being cut. It's not like you're mutilating yourself for no reason. It can be both for traditional or preferential reasons. Maybe you'll lose a certain magnitude of sensitivity, I'll never know as I was circumcised at a young age, but I don't think it would cause you permanent damage. If you really want to get cut, then I suggest you go for it. Just remember though, that this one definitely has a no-return-no-exchange policy. :)

I am now over 2 years in and I have no complaints. I did it mostly for convenience (maybe too much info, but my foreskin was long, which is a bit of a chore, and gets in the way during sex IMHO).

I was circumcised when i was a baby, but I'm still gonna share my thoughts on this. The saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It should be so much smoother and pleasurable when you jo when uncut. If i were you, I'd keep it that way

I think you may be suffering from "the grass is always greener" mindset. I am in a similar spot as you. I am circumcised, but lately I really wished I was uncircumcised. I have been researching foreskin restoration for months now and I keep going back and forth on whether to do it or not. I continue to struggle with the decision, but I've temporarily settled with me wanting the opposite of what I have and I think you are thinking the same way I am.

I think that the opinions that you will get back(from people that were cut later) will be bias, because people don't get it done unless there is something wrong e.g. Phimosis, para phimosis. Because it's unnecessary.
As for your point on it looking better... If you pull back your foeskin I think that it looks almost exactly the same!
jayjay111
March 10th, 2015, 10:59 AM
Yeah, U can still be uncut, but you can keep you foreskin pulled back so the result is almost the same, just a matter of looks and aesthetics.

Well, it's unnecessary if there isn't a medical issue for sure. The healing process is painful, I know it from my own experience, I was circumcised when I was 13 years old.
The waiver of mastubation isn't that bad. You'll simply don't think about it because erections are painful. And yeah, you'll probably lose some sensitivity.
As the users above have written, you should keep your foreskin pulled back for a while, then you experience how the sensitivity is changing. It's much as the same as being cut, it just don't look exactly like you're cut.
If you are 100% sure, then go for it! If you're 99% or less sure, wait until you're 100% sure. Take your time and think about it. You won't be able to get back your skin.

I would suggest not bc most people have told me that it doesn't feel as good bc you have that much less skin rubbing on your head. unless there are other reasons for getting it done than just out of pure interest than dont!
