So 2 years ago, I was nearly 245 lbs. Last year, I dropped 75 lbs (down to 170). Since I started college and working, I've had no time to exercise and my eating habits have been so careless, borderline scary. I'm back up to near 200 lbs again, and I really need to drop 40-50 lbs because I'm overweight again.

Today I signed up for a gym membership (perks of having a job!) and I went to the supermarket and bought loads of veggies, fruits, nuts, etc.

I was wondering if anyone can offer me suggestions on tips, exercises, food, what I can do to lose this weight. I'd rather it be slow and gradual if that means I won't put it on again. I'm gonna workout 4 days a week (Saturday, Sunday and the 2 weekdays that I don't have work). I plan on eating three meals a day (breakfast being largest meal, dinner being smallest).

If you have to fit in work and gym then it gets busy so my advice would be,
sort out a menu once a week for each day based on what the schedule is gym or not.
You can shop once a week and even pre prepare things that are healthy.

The rest depends on what you want to achieve be it just a weight loss or build muscle.

If you just want to lose weight;

Drop all drinks from your diet, only drink water period.
Drop all sugar this includes fruits - you don't have to drop fruits but limit them fruits are good for you but still have a lot of sugar in them.
Limit or completely drop all starchy carbs I'd say definitely drop white bread from your diet entirely. Limit starchy carbs to 1-2 a week if you can't live without them.
Eat lots of veggies & lean proteins.

Drink at least 1.5-2.5 litres of water a day.
Walk as much as possible

Bear in mind while nuts are great for you they are very very heavy in calories.

And as a bonus do weight training, any kind just do it consistently with intensity 2-4 times a week.

Do that over a long period of time, with as little cheating as possible... And you'll see results.
