Saw it on the news this morning. Talk about a few disturbed third graders

It's unbelievable that a bunch of third graders came up with this plan by themselves.

Wow. It is like kids are smarter these days... I mean, covering windows??? Even 12 year olds wouldn't of thought of that.

Smart? These kids were THIRD GRADERS! If they had made the plan a success then they could be in Juvy hall by now

Its because of TV. Without TV shows displaying that sort of thing, these kids would've had no idea. Hell, there's no way they could have read it, tey probably saw it on some popular show

There are a lot of crime drama shows in the US. CSI:, Law & Order, and their spinoffs are some examples.

I read about that this morning. It's just... whoa.

True, but CSI/LAO dont show the actual crimes, just the process afterwarsd. They must have gotten it from a show that had everything : /

bah i bet its there parents its not tv why blam tv when the parents werent in control of there kids. i say spank the parents (seriously) like with a paddle bad parents *sigh* this just sad\

o and this is so dumb ppl talkin like theres nno way for a kid to do this like its out of the ordinary thats stupid they were just bieng human mabye they had no way have control there anger so they just let it out and btw even a young mind can hold alot of power.

 WTF?
I thought I could be an angry person. This is just nuts. It seems to me that there was probably one student who was kind of organizing things, because nine random third graders couldn't keep something like this together.
But, man, stabbing?

You'd get surprised at what kids do.

Last year while I was out tutoring in a 3rd grade class the school went into lock down because a 4th grader had brought fully loaded AK47 to the school and was threatening to shoot his teacher. It was so scary because we had to keep the kids occupied with games since it was their lunch time and they wanted to go to lunch.

The kid had a bad home life, so you can imagine that school only made it worse. The kid was expelled, put into a phsychiatric hospital and then transfered schools.

^^^Omfg that's got to be scary. That's just plain wrong. I really am sad at how some people can be very mentally disturbed.

Well yes I mean shows like Law and Order and CSI show this stuff. But they're third graders and shouldn't be watching anything related to crime.

Shouldn't they be watching Spongebob Squarpants or some other cartoon show..?

It's still disturbing of how they could do this. I'm still trying to comprehend it.

Nowadays thanks to shows on TruTV (used to be known as Court TV) and even sources like the Internet, anyone can commit the "perfect crime", we're getting to the point where the people who intend to stop crime are actually helping other people get away with crimes [sort of off topic].

More on topic... How the fuck does a fourth grader get his hands on an AK47?

I'm not sure about Law & Order, but the CSIs show how the police think a suspect committed a crime. There are theoretical flashbacks before they get to the most likely scene that unfolded.

It's primetime TV. Anybody could be watching it, and the CSI shows are advertised frequently. Who knows? Kids could even be watching it with their parents. Most of the time, the episodes end in arrests, showing that crime doesn't pay, but they may not get to the end or they just remember the interesting stuff in the middle.

Have you ever heard the "My daddy has a gun" after school special? The fourth grader got his hands on it mainly from parents. He doesn't have the permit for a gun so the parents have to take the blame.

Oh my god. That is sooo messed up!
What were these kids thinking!? I know that sometimes we hate our teachers but thats just taking it WAY to far!!
What is happening today!?

The whole thought of this, I must admit it makes me laugh. But the fact of this, its really quite sick, where would 3rd grader's get such knowledge on how to execute such a plan, it's not normal.

Or maybe they got it from the sick, disgusting, and completely fucked up video games sweeping the globe. Seriously, nothing pisses me off more than that crap. I saw my little brother playing a game once when he was ELEVEN YEARS OLD that gave him options to blow people up, shoot with any number of different guns, stab, kick, slap, you name it. I swear I felt sick to my stomach.

And one thing that really gets me about this is...

Police say the plot at Center Elementary School began because the children, ages 8 to 10, were apparently angry after the teacher disciplined one of the students for standing on a chair.

It's not even like they actually had any real REASON to retaliate like that. It's like that one story from a few weeks back where a guy shot a kid in the HEAD because he had been accidentally hit by a snowball from a snowball fight he was walking past.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE TODAY

Yes, but AK47s can only be acquired illegally in the first place.. So that 4th grader obviously had one messed up family...

Sugaree
April 4th, 2008, 03:39 PM
Well you don't know that. Just because a person had illegally had an AK47 doesn't mean that the fourth grader had a messed up family life.

Underground_Network
April 4th, 2008, 03:42 PM
Didn't mean a messed up family life.. I meant his father [or mother] obviously wasn't the nicest of people... [There actually is a legal way to "bring" an AK47 to the United States, but they can't be purchased in the U.S. My friend's grandfather has an AK47 as well as a handful of sniper rifles and submachine guns]

My friend and I were talking about this.
I feel like ever since the Virginia Tech Massacre that there have been more and more events like these. Like a lot of neighboring districts had had bomb threats and I didn't expect my school to. However, we had 2 bomb threats in 1 week!
I just think that kids like that ruin it for the entire school. We couldn't have book bags for the rest of that year.

And I had heard about this one kid who had made a hate list and then the entire school has to be searched every day now. It's not worth it for the person to do it or for anyone else to experience it.

It was his parent's and they didn't keep things locked up.

Um. I have to ask, why aren't they seeking charges with the other children. Or atleast a mental evaluation.
