Anyone on here in or used to be in the UK Army? Or even in the process of joining?

I am in the process of joining only got a few more things to do before I get in which I hopefully will if I am successful! Exciting times lie ahead and before anybody says it, its not all about shooting at people and getting shot at!

Congrats on if you do succeed in getting into the best armed forces in the world, it's something i've also been thinking about along with a lot of other things :)

I find it strange. I remember your posts about Scottish independence. You'll be serving the queen in Westminster, good luck though. I was thinking of armed service possibly abroad and starting a political career.

I've been looking into: http://www.army.mod.uk/specialforces/30603.aspx
It's extremely physically and mentally gruelling but a challenge i'd be up for, it'd also give me a taste if I wanted to continue. I have other reasons for the army but that's one of them.

Don't want to sound like a dickhead but i'm pretty fit and healthy, persevering and mentally able (i'm not phased at all by a lot of things).

Yeah at the time I was pretty passionate about independence for Scotland but even for the rest of Scotland the issue of independence has died down a little because its looking like at the General election we will be well represented in Westminster, better than before and that's the second best option so I am happy with that for now & I understand you finding it Strange even though its serving Westminster its still serving Scotland as a 1/4 of the UK & the Queen's alright I suppose lol.

That does seem quite challenging, what would your 1.5m run time have to be? All jobs in the army are challenging, but I am not going Infantry I am going Logistics, a lot of people seem to forget that there is more than one job available than shooting at people and basically signing up to get shot at! I am doing it to get a great life experience, get some real good qualifications, make mates for life & give my self a chance at a better future for when I leave the army.

Oh believe me as part of the recruitment process you need to have the knowledge of the recruitment process so I made sure I knew everything!! What do you mean on a very long training program? Are you in? Or are you still waiting on a start date or whatever?

I'm currently a non-mobilised Reserve Officer whilst I'm sponsored through college and university before starting Initial Officer Training as an engineer. There's a training package that goes along with the academic course as well. So I'm semi-in :P

Yeah there are heaps of jobs in the army, only the infantry appeals to me though. I'm not sure what the run time would need to be.

Yep, you'll get really close with people who you can rely on in the future.

I think the run time for infantry is in 10 minutes and under, mines is 13 mins however I want to do it in 11, so I am not trying too hard when I am actually there to get it down.
