How do I measure my penis?

I want to measure my penis, but some sites say to do it from the side and other say from the top, so which is correct.

It doesnt really matter where you measure it from because i think everyone does it differently. Its just a way of saying roughly how big you are.

There are two different ways as you mentioned. One way is by measuring along the top only until the ruler hits your skin, not pressing into your body. Another way, or the more accurate way due to the pubic fat hiding up to 2 inches sometimes, is by either measuring from the top and pressing in until you hit the bone, or just measuring from the side.

Measuring from the side is usually gonna result in a bigger number.

Also I've heard these measurements as the "True length" (side measurement) and the "Visual length" (top measurement)

Many forums and other sites like to refer boys to a site called JackinWorld.com and they have tons of articles and resources for teen boys about everything related to puberty and all that. They have an article that describes the correct way to measure. And I've seen this exact method on other sites. So I'll share it with you because measuring incorrectly will give an result that shows you as shorter than your really are, or bigger than you really are, and come-on, guys, we all want to know exactly the correct measurement.

Get out a tape measure and get yourself good and stiff. Place the end of the tape at the base of your dick and have it just touch your lower abdomen where your dick comes out from your body. DO NOT PRESS THE TAPE INTO YOUR SKIN! That's cheating. Place it just so it touches your skin. Extend the tape out to the very tip of your head and look at the tape, that's your true length.

While you're at it, measure your girth, or the circumference of your hard penis. You do it at the thickest part of your penis. For some guys it's the base, for others it's closer to the middle. I've even seen dicks on the net that are thicker closer to the head. So wherever you're thickest, and I hope your tape can do this, put the end of the tape @ the top and wrap the tape around & see the measurement where the tape touches the end of the tape. If your tape won't do that very well, use a piece of string to wrap around your penis & hold where it meets the end of the string with your forefinger & thumbnail and measure the length of the string. If you have scissors handy, do the string measurement and cut the string where it meets the end and measure.

I think a ruler is better than a tape for length and a tape for girth if that matters to you.

I would say the top would be easier to be accurate
