Are there any alternative ways to cut off some weights and fats other than going to the gym or exercising?

dieting and changing the way you eat. But nothing is going to change much without exercise and movement.

If you're wanting to lose weight, I wouldn't recommend playing things like American Football/Rugby as that's gonna gain you muscle which weighs more then fat.

I have a friend who needs to decrease his BMI (lose weight) and he is cutting down how much carbs he eats and is also spinning (bikes in the gym).

well when some people say they want to lose weight they also mean they want to gain muscle and they want to lose more of the fatty weight and not not muscle mass

If you wanna be healthy, you can't really avoid being healthy which is what exercise is.

If you don't want to go to a traditional gym go join a sport that will push you. Like football or karate. & eat healthy

is there a reason you do not want to exercise - but what you do do with watching what you eat and drink = no sugary fizz etc can help. But you stilll have to eat healthy.
