Why would guys (pretty young and immature) would call a quite attractive girl ugly? Is it because they find her pretty and can't say it so they say the opposite? Or are they being mean?

I think you answered your question. You said "Immature". Probably why. Unless they have a gf and she's slightly less attractive, and he's jealous and he wants her to feel bad for that?

well by whose definition is she attractive? beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Like everyone litterally says she's attractive.

well the guy may just be acting like a douche but again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. but in that type of situation, the guy is either genuinely not interested in her, does not like girls, or just being a jerk

Looks are very subjective. A lot of people are turned off by people they consider to be too "model-ish."

Depends.
I think anyone who says someone else is ugly is dumb, so idk.

He should never have called her ugly, but different people find different characteristics attractive, so it's very possible that he just didn't find her attractive.

Maybe because some people stereotype attractive girls as being self-absorbed and having a bad personality.
Or maybe they just don't find her attractive, I mean every guy has different tastes in girls. But that still doesn't make it okay to call anyone ugly.
Or maybe they're just stereotyping her based off how she dresses.
Like me for instance, people often assume I'm into drugs and that I have sex with everyone and that I probably skip school and am a "bad kid" just because I have dyed hair, wear make up, and dark clothes.
[cringes at the excessive use of "and"]
When in reality none of that is true.
People are just mean sometimes.
And like you said they're "young and immature", no one should take a person like that seriously.

These. There are many different possibilities of why they said it, jealousy, opinions etc but if you and whoever else think she is attractive, that just means you have one less person to compete with ;)

Maybe they find her pretty but don't want anyone to know. Then again some may find her good looking while other will not.

Not sure if this has anything to do with finding anyone attractive or not. Sometimes this may be related to hating that certain girl.
Calling someone ugly as an insult is very much possible in this situatio..

Honestly, most guys who call a girl ugly are obviously hating on her for some reason. I've known a couple guys who hit on me by being a little mean because they like me. I've had guys who said I would look better this way or this way. But not to the point of insulting or bullying.

There is a large difference between ugly and unattractive. If he said she was ugly, then that was just uncalled for. If he just found her unattractive then that's understandable, whatever she looked like because different people find different people attractive. Its completely normal for someone to find someone unattractive that others find attractive.
