[NOTE: I am not trying to generalize about conservatives here, so please don't be offended if you happen to be one. That is not my intention :)]
One thing that I noticed from the time I have lived with my grandparents (who are unbearably conservative) is some conservatives like to enhance the truth a LOT, especially those comments Fox News makes against Obama. Here's my main focus:
*Why are they so convinced he is Muslim?
*If he was Muslim, why is it that big of a deal? (Let me note that only 6% percent of Muslims are extremist according to CNN)
It just burns my ass when I see people spreading poorly sourced or otherwise false information to people, especially those in the media. Every time I hear it I just want to scream at these people to provide some sort of shred of evidence or source material.
Why do you guys and gals think? Do you think he's Muslim, and why? Do you hate this too?

You don't know his reason for keeping troops out...it could be anything.
Another danger, assumptions.
You know what they about people who assume things?
Assumptions make an ASS out of U. (Nothing towards you, just a little joke my English teacher told me.

The more proper quip refers to the actual structure of the word 'assume' as opposed to 'assumption,' due to the fact that 'assume' makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. Just an FYI.
Also I'm of the opinion that Obama is not a proper Muslim and those that say he is are simply less knowledgeable.

I understand this, but the "me" part didn't seem to fit right with the context of what I was saying.
And you may be right about the "not proper Muslim" part, if you could explain what you mean by "not proper"

News/media is a business, and you market it! Sell what sells!
*Why are they so convinced he is Muslim?

I wouldn't say convinced, but spreading lies about your opponent (democrats) is a way to strengthen your trust with your "allies" (republicans)
Obama being a Muslim wouldn't be too small of a deal to some of their audience, the same people that believe that "America was founded on Christian Values" and what not. To have someone against that belief in office, more so of the opposing political party, is a great motive to go against and promote the republican side.

they're probably pseudoconservatives, which is likely if they watch Fox News unironically and obsess over Obama. pseudocons love the culture war (I guess because it's like rooting for MUH TEAM during the BIG GAME) so they vote religiously for the GOP in the hopes that maybe someday Roe vs Wade will be repealed and abortion will just vanish in a puff of smoke. any day now! :lol3:
true conservatives such as myself dgaf about Obama or his religion because we see the whole thing for what it is. culture-war slapfights and conspiracy mongering are just another form of prolefeed to keep the hoi polloi distracted and divided against one another.

Considering he's attended the same church for over a decade, I find it unlikely his Christian beliefs are insincere.
If they are, it's probably because he's a closet atheist masquerading as a christian for the sake of his career. But even that seems unlikely.
As for why people think he's a Muslim, I agree with Phuckphace.
Oh, and one time I asked my history teacher if we've ever had any non christian presidents and she said "Obama".
That's not really relevant, I just thought I'd share it so people know how fucked up the Texas public school system is.

Because people who do that don't care about it being the truth. They care about advancing their own agenda.

Every news source has some sort of bias slant. Of course Fox News is going to slant towards conservatism and CNN is going to slant towards liberalism, that's what they're told to do. Enhancing of the truth has gone on for a very VERY long time, well before Fox News was even an idea.
In terms of whether President Obama is a Muslim or not, I don't think he is, but his actions ever since the "red line" with Syria in 2012 don't exactly make me feel confident in that opinion. Last year, at the UN conference in New York City, President Obama said - and I am quoting him word for word - "The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam". He also went on live television on September 10th, 2014, to say that ISIS/ISIL is "not Islamic", even though they are instilling the laws laid out by sharia in the Quran.
Such evidence doesn't really convince me that he isn't a Muslim; however, I can't definitively say that he is. But, considering his constant waffling in the Middle East (pulling out far too early from Iraq and Afghanistan, leaving a civilian army in Afghanistan not fully trained and fully equipped, completely disregarding and disrespecting Israel [one of just two countries in the region willing to talk to us], and allowing four United States citizens to die in an attack on the Benghazi, Libya embassy) and his comments on foreign policy ("Don't do stupid stuff"), I'm even less confident about it. He may not be a Muslim, but he certainly does not come across to me as a leader of the free world who is assigned to protect, not only US citizens, but anyone who is oppressed by foreign or domestic powers.

No offense but Hussein is a name only carried by those of Muslim influence... Obama has yet to do anything about ISIS despite the violence and so far he never said he wasn't Muslim. News media likes to lie and skew towards sides. Who's to say who is even the player?

it can. I'm economically left-wing, but socially conservative. it is a rather unusual combination and may seem contradictory, but then again most people define conservatism the same way pseudocons do.

Both sides of the spectrum do this equally. Conservatives hassle Obama the same way that Liberals hassled Bush. This is nothing new.

He engages in acts that are haraam and avoids those that are fardh (al-ayn and al-kifaya). He does not even follow the way of sunnah.

That doesn't answer the question. Provide specific evidence that he is not a Muslim.

I have a Muslim friend who haraams it up every day except Friday and during Ramadan. that's to say he fornicates, smokes weed and drinks alcohol, until it's time to get down on Friday. he still considers himself as Muslim as they come. is he wrong? perhaps we'll never know.

I personally have no evidence to prove he isn't, but...I haven't seen any evidence to prove that he is either. I never said I think he isn't, I'm just mad at the lack of evidence
No offense but Hussein is a name only carried by those of Muslim influence...
This is probably because he went to a Muslim school in Indonesia when he was six to ten, (look it up!) but that doesn't automatically make him Muslim. Just because a kid goes to a Catholic school doesn't mean he's Catholic.
