Active members

Ok so it's a dumb question, but what is considered an active member?
We have over 6000 members, but only like 600 active members, so I was just wondering what makes a person an active member.

I dont remember the exact specs but a member has posted on the forums within a few months or a month or some period of time.

It used to be accessible and modifiable through the Administrator Control Panel, however, I believe it's now hard-coded into the PHP code. At any rate, we can assume that it uses a criteria of either "any activity" or "posting activity" within the past month. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I find it's pretty accurate.

i always thought it was that they were active amongst the forums on a regular basis, so every few days or something like that.
