Ok so i had sex , protected , few days ago. My partner told me that his throat is sore , but we did it anyway. We had 2 hours of active sleep. Next day , i felt exhaustion in limbs , neck and joints and sore throat.

I was reading symptoms of early HIV infections , and those match ... My partner was tested last year , he was clean. So should i be worried and get tested or is it just irrational fear? Thank you!

it never hurts to get tested, but i dont think you have contracted hiv, it sounds to me that he may have been on the cusp of a cold or flu and he passed it on to you. but like i said, its better to be safe than sorry in getting it checked out.

HIV is not something to mess with, I advise you to get tested as soon as possible. Although it is unlikely that you have really taken HIV (since you had protected sex), it's best to get tested, for your health's sake.

If you had HIV, you wouldn't start showing symptoms for four to six weeks. That's why, for an accurate diagnosis early on, it can take months to get proper results.

Honestly, get it checked out if you're worried but you're also describing the same symptoms you'd get if you had the flu or strep throat. Might as well as a doctor about all of them.

I wouldn't get all worked up over the fear that you caught HIV overnight. It takes weeks, or even months, for symptoms to show. If your partner had a sore throat, perhaps you caught a cold from him? If you're truly concerned get it checked out, always better to be safe rather than sorry, but I don't think you caught HIV last night and are showing symptoms this morning.

The onset of symptoms would not occur within hours of intercourse like that, were it to be HIV. If you are getting these symptoms from HIV, it would be from exposure months to years beforehand. There would be no point in testing for it for this particular encounter. If you did get tested now, it would be testing for exposure 6 months prior and beyond. So if you have doubts, about your previous exposure, then you should see your doctor and get tested; with another test in 6 months' time.

Not to mention, it's fairly common to be sore, especially in the limbs, after sex. If you were the one receiving, it would be even more likely. However, if you're still worried, see a doctor. It obviously doesn't hurt and it gives you peace of mind.

Yeah yeah i was clean last year. Yup i am introduced with how HIV works ,but ,you know , fear is a powerful tool of mass destruction :D

I was the "active" one. But , yeah i was thinking about that too. Looks like i was just exhausted.

I went to doc , and i have rash in my throat. Acute rash... Doc asked me if i was in contact with chemicals or evaporation? But i haven't... I did blood analysis and today i'll have my results. The diagnosis is Tonsillitis acute.
We did oral , but it can't be cause of it ,can it?

Tonsillitis basically is the inflammation of the tonsils. This is mainly from infection, but of course trauma is a possibility. So yes, theoretically it could be the cause.

Something simple which would account for everything is something like a viral infection. You'd feel tired and lethargic, etc. and it could also cause a tonsillitis. Common things happen commonly. Viral infections would probably be up there in what presents like this in the population. Regardless, your family physician is on the case now and will be able to keep an eye on things!

Well it is somewhat good that i live further from my parents , alone in a big city :D so i am somehow "alone" and that is really good. This was first time i was alone at doctors , waiting rooms , blood analysis. So that is a good thing.

What am i worried is , if it is STD , which i hope is not , than it would be a bit harder situation

*I am reading about Gonorrhea , Herpes and Chlamydia ,as those are associated with symptoms. But mine symptoms are weaker than those described. I don't have white spots on tonsils , the doc just said that tonsils are just really red.

I highly doubt it's an STD. Your tonsils are (weirdly) part of your immune system. You get tonsil infections typically before or during colds. All it's doing is probably picking up bacteria or a virus from literally anywhere and trying to filter it out. The odds of it being an STD are incredibly slim and if your doctor thought it was, you would have done a test (and they're simple, you take blood and pee in a cup).

If you're concerned, get tested again but you've seen a doctor and they just said you have a tonsil infection. They are literally as common as the common cold.

Well i got antibiotics tho i have 8% virocytes in blood. All other parameters are good.
It can be mononucleosis , but mononucleosis locks you in bed for long time.
When doctor saw it today she said that it is decreasing , but because yesterday was really really awful , she made me do full blood analysis. We will see what will happen.
My throat is not sore anymore , and i can drink water normally! wohoo

Kinda doubt it.... HIV symptoms don't show up that fast. I just read about it LMAO

It's just not how viruses work. It's probably something bacterial, go to the doctor. Yer fine.
