I'm not really complaining. I see straight guys "playing gay" or whatever it's called all the time. Like gay chicken or grinding on their straight friends. that kind of thing. Why do straight guys do that? Don't you guys know what that does to us gay guys? haha
But don't stop doing it! :P

"Bromance" -- it's a quite a weird thing and is hard to explain. Some guys just... do that sort of thing lol. Sorry for the lack of a better answer, I just can't put this thought into words. It's mainly just joking around, and not every guy will do it with every guy, you usually have to have some sort of bromance with somebody, in my experience or understanding. I think part of it has to do with being uncomfortable about homosexuality, and not wanting to come off that way -- like if you can "act gay" as a joke, you are somehow showing your comfortability with your own sexuality. Idk, straight guys are weird, that's my final answer lol.

I see some guys like cuddling with their straight friends. So yeah i guess bromance in the new thing. I think it's cute when they do that.

That's the best thing I've read all week.
But yeah I think it comes down to some straight guys feel secure enough with their sexuality that they don't mind joking around.

"The more I act gay, the more straight and masculine I'll seem" - straight boy logic, from the perspective of a queer girl
This is exactly where the "no homo" clause gets invoked, I believe :P

I have never done nor seen this type of behavior. But I do know what you're talking about. I honestly think it's more like one giant inside joke than anything else. Unless of course they're using it as a ploy to cover their ulterior motives. Who knows?

I hope some straight guys answer this because I'd really like to know what's going on in their minds when they do that. I'm not judging or anything like that. i'm just curious.

Straight guys are strange, lol.
Nah, I mean, girls act gay with each other all the time. My best friend and I have been asked like ten times if we're dating. That being said, neither of us are straight but we're not actually dating we're just really close. My other (straight) friend and I act super gay and get asked if we're dating and nah, we just tease each other and shit. She's comfortable in her sexuality and I'm comfortable in mine and she knows I'm not coming on to her, I'm just acting like a dork. I mean seriously, I was teasing her about how big her boobs are and wore her bra as a hat in her room. Some people would be like "okay that's super gay you just put another girl's bra on your head" and some people would just be like "you guys are such idiots".
Girls and guys are learning to be more comfortable in their close friendships without having to worry about people judging them. "Hey, are you two gay?" "Nah, just friends." "Oh, okay." It's a pretty common conversation now and it just gets laughed off.
That's just my opinion. I think people are just finding new ways to express themselves now that there's somewhat less of a stigma around "acting gay" in a lot of places.

I kind of hope that's what it is.

It's just something we enjoy really, we like it. It is bromance I guess, it just shows good relations I guess. We do it for fun too, just to joke around haha ;)

I pretend I'm gay with my friends, but it's just joking. Most of my friends do it. How far the guy goes depends on how comfortable they are going.

im pretty sure theyre gay (im straight btw). i think if you ever need to say no homo to your friends, presuming youre all striaght youve either 1. crossed a line or 2. have shitty friends who think youre gay if you like kids movies or something like that

It's basically a bromance on steroids. I have bromances (strong connection between straight guys that is not sexual)

It's just for the sake of being funny I would say. I don't do it, but Those who do have nothing sexual or actually romantic going on - or else they hide it pretty good. Over here people don't exaggerate that much, and it's kept kind of private. If you have a group of friends and have this funny thing going on between your best friend and you, which is a joke between you both, you wouldn't quite mess around in public due to the fact of being called names and stuff. Sadly in Spain we still use gay as an everyday insult, which sucks.
But yeah, basically just 2 close friends playing exaggeratedly funny.
