Well without getting into too much detail, I've done it a couple times and yeah it feels okay. I wouldn't say it is necessarily safe, but you can't really push it past your prostate anyways, unless you bend the thing you are using (not recommended).

I don't know if using a carrot is necesserily a great idea... I would use my fingers personally, it's probably a bit safer. I also don't think you can push past your prosate and if you somehow can then that doesn't sound too good. Anyways, just be careful an you'll be fine!

iv used quite a few things to do it and you can go in as far as you can take it without it hurting

Man, that doesn't sound safe. I would never use a glass bottle and a pen might get stuck in your ass.
