I was hoping someone would make a thread about this but this forum really isn't used all that much so I thought I'd make it.
Anyone else got the new Enter Shikari album 'The Mindsweep' or Papa Roach's 'F.E.A.R.'?
And anyone from the UK going to see either of them live in the following months? I swear all bands seem to tour during the same periods and then you end up having no one to see for half a year.
But yeah, my opinion on the albums:
The Mindsweep is just following the Shikari progression, it's nothing like 'Take To The Skies' and it has a lot more of a techno vibe, even in the softer songs, than 'A Flash Flood' but I like it. My favourite songs are probably 'Anaethetist', 'Torn Apart' and I'm getting into 'The Last Garrison' after not being too keen on it for a while. Loving the message their putting across which is something Shikari never fails to do. I'd give it an 8/10, there are a couple songs I'm not especially keen on but I've got no troubles playing the full album on repeat.
I've been waiting for Papa Roach's new album for 2 damn years and I can't tell if I'm disappointed or ecstatic with what they've produced. They said they were venturing back to their Infest days and I definitely think they've succeeded in doing that. It's nice to hear Jacoby rapping again on 'Gravity' and the album is a complete turn around from The Connection lyric-wise which I like because I don't think they've produced an album with a majorly positive vibe. I think F.E.A.R. definitely follows with the adaption of their sound though, they've been through so many stages and different genres that I think this is definitely a good place to be with songs like 'Warriors' and the electronic sound. I'm glad they didn't completely move past their old style as they have 'Broken As Me' and 'Fear Hate Love' which definitely fit the 'Time For Annihilation' and 'Getting Away With Murder' days, which personally I prefer.
So yeah, not sure if anyone cares about bands like this now and I know Papa Roach are pretty hated (my poor babies -.-) and Enter Shikari are a UK band but if you have an opinion I'd like to hear it!
