When do you think gay marriage will be legal in the US nationwide?
Given the pace I say this year, 2015 by maybe December.
Who do you think will be last?
Given how Alabama beat both Texas and Ohio... I think Texas may be last.

At least sometime within the next five years. It's going to be goddamn ridiculous if it's longer than that. 2020 is a good fucking max goal imo.
But 2015/2016 sounds totally reasonable.
Texas being last wouldn't surprise me at all.

Well, the Supreme Court is hearing four cases this term on same-sex marriage, so we'll find out this year. I have a hard time imagining them shooting it down forever, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say by the beginning of 2016 it will be legal in the U.S.
It's not going to come down to a domino effect where states continue to legalize it one by one -- it will be one fell swoop, sooner than we realize.

It was a domino effect before. People wanted it now they'll want it again.

Yeah but if the Supreme Court smacks down all of the bans come June, it will be legal nation-wide.

Last I heard, the Supreme Court is hearing cases right now and they will make a decision by June. I can't wait, and considering that is LGBT pride month and my birthday month June is just a great month.
This is the 21st century. It's time for change.

I'd say probably within 3 years. 2015-2018.

Given the current trend, I would expect for it to be legalised in all US states in a few years.

Thus I deplore Texas's position in the Union. And your estimate may be right

I'm in Texas and people here are fighting Mayor Anise's Equal Rights Ordinance! Do people not hear that? Fighting Equal rights? That makes no sense in America! I loathe Texas... give it back to Mexico... but alas I live here.

This is what I'm betting on as well. With the Supreme Court hearing four cases in the coming term on same-sex marriage and related issues - and considering the current bias of the current court ruling in more favor with issues of the left wing - you're going to see same-sex marriage legalized by the end of 2016, if not earlier.
I think, in the long run, it's a great thing. I'm not planning on getting gay married, but I'm not going to get in the way of people's happiness.

Too bad this does nothing to help LGBT youths and those under homophobic households... If only there was a way to help. Even people like me are trapped.

Conservative small-minded gun-loving rednecks.
As long as you have those people in your country gay marriage never will be allowed in every state

I'm going to say to give it a year or two.

I'm actually going to point at my own state Michigan. Recently Gay Marriage was approved for a day then banned again in our state. I feel like a bunch of the other states will have to legalize Gay Marriage before Michigan feels it's needed.

What'll probably happen is in the next few years all but a handful of states will legalize it, a few like Texas will attempt to fight it and drag things out, and by 2020 SCOTUS will deem gay marriage bans unconstitutional and the stragglers will be dragged into the 21st century, and 30 years from now we'll be looking back at the fight for gay rights the same way people look back on the fight for black rights now.
