View Full Version : In tears because of the passing of a youtuber

Today I found out that a youtuber (kitty0706) that I've watched for years had passed away on Sunday. The videos he made are such a big part of how I've gotten through things in the past. I would go and watch any of his videos and I'd feel so much better. I can only describe how I feel as completely crushed. Especially after seeing his girlfriend deal with it on twitter. I know that it sounds so silly to be this broken up over a youtuber, but he did mean a lot to me even though I didn't know him personally.
And I just wrote this because I didn't know where else I could go to just let my feelings out like this.
I don't even know how to end this to be honest. I'll just stop before this gets way too long...

That's really sad news. It's okay to feel sad over the death of someone who meant something to you. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.

There is nothing wrong with feeling upset over someone's death, even if it was someone on Youtube. You felt a connection with them in some way and it's always sad to lose someone you look up to. I'm really sorry to hear about this.

Agree with Jo.
Honestly, I think I cried when Robin Williams committed suicide, and like hell did I know him.
I honestly think apathy is more frightening and dark. It's completely natural to feel sad over tragedy.

I'm sorry for your loss. You shouldn't feel bad that you feel this way over someone who has clearly had a big impact on your life. Wether or not you know them irl doesn't matter. Like animals, you may never interact with them on a personal level, however they have the power to change your mood. I hope you find something to help you through and know that I'm here if you want to talk.

Thanks everyone for the support. I've been talking with other people who've been impacted by this and it's helping me cope with this a lot.
