Have you tried any form of self-care first? Like taking a bath or a shower, finding some relaxing music, cooking comfort food, taking a nap... etc. Things like that are good distractions.

Other techniques that are more specific to self-harm can be anything from snapping an elastic band or using an ice cube on the spot you want to cut. Or draw on yourself with a marker if you need to see something but you won't hurt yourself that way.

Another thing you can do is shred paper. I used to rip it up a fair bit to take out my anger on something in a destructive way that wouldn't harm myself or anything important.

A good way to keep ur mind off is distracting yourself
You can read, play an instrumment, go for a walk, chat with a friend...

You can write a diary too. I do the same and it helps a little bit

I cut myself too and i understand your pain. I have problems in keep my mind off cutting and it's really hard, specially when im alone or sad.

Feel free to text me if you want! Stay strong, :)

I personally know that it can be a very hard thing to distract yourself from hurting yourself. I used to do it by going online and watching youtube for a while, reading, texting my friends, riding my bike around the neighborhood, listening to music, etc. I noticed the easiest one was to keep in contact with friends whether it be your online buddies or real life ones. I used to be online in social networking type sites all the time which I usually had one person online to chat with at least.

Try journaling as well! That really helped me. SOmetimes writing kinda morbid stories even... I hope what I said helps! Keep your chin up, hon! You can make it through it! I have and so have many others :)

Fill your time with some fun hobbies. Remove any triggers from your life, or at least the areas in which you frequent. Put 100% into whatever you do, that way, you'll distract yourself. I find relaxing things such as music and baths and massages take my mind off it.
