So a show here got taken off air after making fun of our president and his wife, this isn't the first time a show got taken down after criticizing the ruling party. Were there any cases of censorship in your country?

If I remember well , that was reason for censorship at first , but it revealed eventually that Dragan J. Vucicevic is guilty for it , same guy that made false erotic photos of Croatian president Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic . I think that he deserves to be punished by both Serbian and Croatian government . That kind of uncivic fearlessness is insane ... But it doesn't mean that government didn't plait their finger in al this .. On other side , More important censorship was censorship of show "Cirilica" . Seselj would be guest today , but in last moment show was cancelled . So , you can imagine what he would say in that show about former Radicals , quslings Vucic and Nikolic , and that show could harm their government popularity really seriously ... And plus , since Seselj came back in Serbia , no one media house mentioned him ... I think that this is more important and more serious problem , and plus it is clear example of censorship in Serbia . And by the way , no , we don't have that kind of problems here in Montenegro ...

No, in America there is freedom of speech, so we can say or make anything we want that insults or compliments our government

I also like how mere hours after the Serbia vs. Albania match the goy that called Vucic a faggot got labelled as a member of the Radical Party. Like they could gain access to tgeur member list and identify him. Also, out of almost 900 mentions of Vucic in the newspapers of 2014, only 6 were negative even though his government is full of party members and quislings unskilled for the job of running a country, hell, I cannot name those who can properly manage a household. But Vucicevic must be punished, not just appologise. His newspaper should cease to publish for a year minimum plus a punishment by the Croatian government. Freedom of speech is one of the foundations of modern civilization and letting backwards peasants trump it is sad. This is the fourth show which got indirectly taken down by the government and in this case Vucicevic. If they ban 24 minutes with Zoran Kesić, I'll start a one-man riot or something.

You'll get arrested here for that too, but I don't think that should be the case. By extension that would imply anybody can get anybody else arrested if said person says something about them that they don't like no? Clearly governments abusing their power.
Protip, before you direct any insults at whatever government or corporation, make sure you include a disclaimer of some sort stating this is fiction, all resemblance is parodic or coincidental, whoever believes it as fact is a fool blah blah. Should reduce the chances of a lawsuit

Not only one year , I would ban his newspaper for good .. He doesn't deserve to be journalist , especially because of his inappropriate jokes that harmed diplomatic relations between Croatia and Serbia. After that , Serbia should sent him in Croatia for sentence .. Anyway , I think that riot of one 16 year old kid wouldn't help , teachers are rioting for months in Serbia but nothing happened .. 24 minute with Kesic is one of greatest shows you have . They provoke everybody but indirectly and in some normal life spheres l, which is great sense of humor for me . Ivanovic was totally different , I mean , more he was advancing more his jokes were inappropriate , jokes of cases of rape during war in Bosnia and jokes of Albania , jokes of Montenegro and Montenegrin , that was sick to me..

Censorship in the US consists of quite a bit of stuff.
Network TV:
No explicit "non-sexual" nudity from 6:00-22:00
Bleeps out "harsher" curse words. (fuck, shit, etc...)
A few other more minor things.
Schools:
One pretty important one that teacher's in public institutions are not allowed to express their political beliefs with students, however, they can express personal views.
General population:
The only things that will get you in trouble for saying in day-to-day life are direct threats to others or harassment of others.
There are other examples of censorship in the US, but for the most part it's pretty lax out here. If you do anything to try to halt freedom of expression or speech people immediately start flipping out screaming about their liberties.

There's been plenty, especially back during the formation of the CIA and FBI here in the United States. As far as the Obama administration goes, it's very clearly pro-censorship just by its actions. The continuation of the NSA's wire-tapping and location programs are bordering very close to making people afraid of saying anything that can be construed as hate speech or anything "not approved" to be said.
With that said, government organizations like the FCC are authoritarian concepts and are very imposing. Honestly, the government has no right in telling people what they should or should not say. If someone wants to walk in the street with a sign that says "I hate niggers", then let them. If they hate niggers, let them sound off. People who want to abuse their freedoms will eventually pay the price for their actions. If that means the guy wearing the "I hate niggers" sign gets beaten up by a bunch of blacks,
it was his own damn fault. People can just as easily police themselves; there is no need for a government organization to regulate the airwaves.
No, in America there is freedom of speech, so we can say or make anything we want that insults or compliments our government
You can say it, sure; but that doesn't exempt you from extra scrutiny from the government. Senator McCarthy, during the Red Scare of the 1950s, was in cahoots with FBI director J. Edgar Hoover during the whole HUAC debacle. He had Hoover turn over FBI documents that Hoover personally kept and updated on people who were only suspected of being Communists or sympathizers. This is why the government has no right to peer into private conversations between people. When you give the government the power over anything, it WILL consolidate every other power it can get. That leads to power being used AGAINST the citizens rather than FOR the citizens as it should be used.

censorship exists everywhere, it just depends where you're at. it's not really a difference of how much censorship, but what.
like, in Western countries you will lose your job and be ostracised and/or arrested if you joke about the Holocaust, but you're also FREE to download as much hardcore rape porn as can fit on your hard drive. In the East it's mostly in reverse - porn is frowned upon but taking issue with Hitler's gamerscore is no biggie.
since we're going to have censorship anyway, I'd prefer it to be the latter variety. there are some things worth getting bent out of shape over, history is not one of them.

We make tons of Holocaust jokes here. Unfortunately porn is nit frowned upon, at least in Serbia, I myself have stopped for a month or two. Here if it's anti-regime, you dead.
There are pretty much no free news outlets (except Al-Jazeera but that's a Balkan branch) who are not supporting the ex-Radicals who sold themselves for the EU and now call themselves "Progressives". What our president said about Putin and Angela Merkel could've gotten us bombed again.

Come on ; "Here if it's anti-regime, you dead" . Situation is bad , but not like that , that is exaggerated ... Al Jazeera isn't only one , you have B92 , I think that they're totally independent , maybe little bit favoring DS and ex NDS now SDS ...

I must say Hitler had his flaws, not letting the generals fight the war for him. Merkel applies a new strategy, indebt and conquer.

I am not sure about B92, I am not watching local TV channels anymore, but I must say I didn't see them post the face of our glorious premier and traumatize the people who are watching by doing that. Pink should be banned on the basis that it's disrupting national unity and morality of the nation. Also the owner should be jailed for snorting cocaine on a daily basis. I wish the ruling party would have to be forced by law to do a certain percent of their manifesto during the elections and that there should be another body within the government who are supposed to defend the constitution.

Agree ... But you said in one previous post that you watch "24m with Kesic" , and now you say that you don't watch it o.O ?! Never mind , I think that sadder is covered case of girl killed by "daddy's son" Aleksandar Mitrovic .. He was in jail few days , and everything was covered in few days and no one even mentioned that poor girl since ... I think that Serbia needs party that will defend national interests not foreign , you need heroes not vassals .. I think that most acceptable policy would be some kind of Socialism or Social Democracy , something like here in Montenegro , or in Greece these days ..

Hitler was GREAT leader , but his biggest mistake was that he believed that he is best strategist ... That was insane. That destroyed his plans , he calculated that Germans will conquer USSR in 6 months , he didn't count famous Russian winter. He wasn't first that got burn on Russian winter , Napoleon , Austrohungarians and Germans in WW2 etc ... That was his only and biggest mistake that costed him .
I would also have imaged that purging his parties left-wing would have bothered yous. But I guess not.
Only Socialist party that Serbia has is Socialist Party of Serbia , whose popularity was 13-14% on last elections.. Their popularity has fallen so , that their current popularity bases on last measuring is just 7-8% , due their policy change in December 2014. and due their scandals .. Leftism isn't popular in Serbia at all , since Milosevic fall .. Only rightist parties are popular in Serbia , their mentality haven't changed since Yugoslavian wars ..

Since I am never in time to watch the show when it's on air, my dad records it and I watch it later. Also our socialist party... It isn't exactly socialist, I think it's the only party that is not recognized as a socialist party by the Socialist Internationale xD
They support the cutting of salaries in the public sector and pretty much do nothing to uphold the principles of socialism, to make the worker live a good life. Also there is Vulin's Movement of Socialists but I don't want to comment on that.

The Tadić administration, while being corrupt, did do a better job in running the country better than everyone. Also they didn't use the glorious leader propaganda or censor stuff. Also Tadić knows both Serbian and English fluently. I've seen aome of his interviews and he doesn't just talk about the failures of the previous government. Also calling our current government quislings is an insult to Vidkun Quisling himself. These guys betrayed the country and the people twice and are still breathing.

Every government was corrupted , but these radical quislings are worst of all .. Their only explanation for failures is "previous government" . And not to talk about their promises to people , especially Mrs. Tabakovic . She promised that RSD after 2 yrs of SNS government will be reduced on 100 RSD = 1 EUR , what happened , you Serbians best know . Or about "foot pillows" these few days , I mean they have salary about 800 EUR in NBS and their only job is to sit in chair , and God damn , they're spending 8h a day like that and they still need "foot pillows" , and even due fact that most of people has 10% lower salaries , salaries that were poor without any reducing , and all that stories about budget saving , Mrs. Tabakovic will pay 3000EUR for that shit .. Not to talk about rest of government , about Nikolic's property , about Vucic's brother property , about Vucic's vandal son , about Gasic whose profession is being ceramist actually . Soon , you'll build Milosevic with mud , believe me .

I'm gonna study politics, international relations probably, if nothing, I will found a (probably) small populist party. Also promote social preservation. Something like the German Nazi Party, minus the genocidal speeches and such. I mean, Serbia is one of the rare countries from which their citizens want to move away.

Nazi Party and SNS can not even compare .. One was light at the end of tunnel , and one is actually "dark" in the tunnel . They censor the goddamn newspapers now. The anti-regime ones don't get the printing licence. Some newspapers mask their collaborationist agenda with small three panel anti-regime comics which are in the corner and hard to notice. Still we get the glorious leader on the front page with some "wise" quote of his. Our beloved premier is on a so hard power boner right now he went apeshit paranoid, hell, he could match Stalin in his paranoia.
