Hi,I am at my last year of high school and I live in Greece I am gonna(probably) enter a university next year.So the educational system here is broken as hell,if you want to stand a chance on getting a good grade at the finals(that take place on the last high school year on national level and thats how you get in a college-university here)you have to pay teachers that dont work inside your school because the teachers inside your school dont care about(really)helping students (and are not qualified enough to begin with).Like almost 90% of my classmates and I,pay 200-300 euros for outside-of-school teachers order to get to a good college.I mean the 10% that cant afford this and try fail.Isnt that unfair? Also I want to know if there are people my age from other countries that have this shitty education...

While I am not your age old (I am a few years younger), I can definitely say I live in a country whose education system isn't among the best. Actually, it is a country close geographically to Greece (that is, Romania). Corruption exists in the Romanian educational system too, but since cameras were put in the classrooms where the students take their 'Bacalaureat' (the equivalent of A-level, Matura, etc.), the grades taken by the Romanian students turned into.... largely poor ones. 50 percent of the students passed this exam last year. You said the teachers don't care at all about helping students: same applies to Romania, unfortunately. Of course it is extremely unfair to give money in order to pass an exam (even though the knowledge is lacking;a diploma is worth nothing to an employer without the knowledge behind it)...

hey thanks for answering by the way, when I said we pay Ι didnt mean we pay to pass an exam or sth like that,we pay outside of school teachers to teach us 10 times better than our school teachers and its not like its cheap, its more or less 300 eyros a month.....

Phrontistíria, huh? Or something similar at least.
That being said, the system in Japan isn't very different. It's more or less a huge standardized testing system upon which one's educational future is more or less entirely dependent. Thus the heavy emphasis and extreme attendance rates at cram schools and such. Of course, now that I'm in the States, the American system is, in my opinion, both better and worse. For one, I personally much prefer taking a big exam rather than compiling a 'resume' of sorts and writing essays and having so much emphasis on in-school grades and reports and stuff like that. But in general the American system is so much more convoluted and messy. I would actually prefer to return to the Japanese system for uni entrance if I could theoretically attend an education-focused student-focused juku.

Exactly phrontistiria thats how we call them,I just didnt want to get people baffled cause there is no word with equal meaning in english dictionary.By the way I read about different aspects of the American school and it seems that in different states there are some really big differences. Also I wonder,is so easy in America to get a detention or sth? Because here its almost impossible to.(I ask because I saw some people speaking about it and it seemed a bit cruel)

I wouldn't really put Croatia and Albania in the same group.
Jbg, Croatia is the most developed country in the Balkans. :)
