Dyeing hair? (Guys)

So I've been wanting to dye my hair black for a while, but I've been told it may make me seem like I care too much about my looks. What do you guys think? Perfectly normal for a guy to dye their hair?

There's nothing wrong with a guy dying his hair. I dye my hair all the time. If you want to go black, then go for it! Who cares what others think? As long as you're happy with how you look.

I'm not against hair dying (neither guys nor girls), as long as you keep it normal. I don't mean only eccentric colors (you can say I'm judging, but I don't think that for example green or blue hair looks good on anyone), but I also mean people who dye their hair so many times and in so many different colors, not only their original shade is completely gone, but the hair is messed up. I know a girl who has been changing her hair color from brown to red to blonde, and her hair hasn't grown at all in 4 years.

But, as I said, as long as you want to do something normal (black is great and classy), go for it!

Hey, go for it. I used to dye my hair every few months but today I'm going back to my natural colour because it's less maintenance and constant roots for the last five years has been a hassle. But it's fun, especially when you're younger.

(And I don't agree with the post a few above me. I rocked blue hair.)

Careful about what type of black you choose. Either get it done professionally or do your research first based on your skin tone (you can tell if you're warm or cool depending on the colour of your veins). Using the wrong black base can make you look washed out. And don't worry if it looks too dark at first. About a week later, it will start to fade until it looks somewhat more natural. It will still look black, but not overwhelmingly so.

At one point I wanted to dye my hair blond so I'd match my friend Ali - but then he told me that I look better as a brunette, so I'm staying a brunette.

Dyed green hair can look good. I have a friend who dyes her hair green. She's naturally a redhead, but she likes it better green. She laughed when Ali told her that she looks like Palutena from Kid Icarus. (She took it as a compliment!) I think it looks good on her, though.
