I access VT via my phone 99% of the time. In the past (by past I mean last few months) I would get ads at the top of the page after going to the main forum index. Recently however, I've been getting full screen ads every time I try to access VT. Is this something the administration has had a say in or if not does anyone know why I'm seeing this? I use Google Chrome on my iPhone if that helps.

if you're seeing the ads inside the Tapatalk app then they're Tapatalk ads and have nothing to do with VT. if you see them inside Chrome then they're VT ads.

Can you screenshot it? I think I know which as you're talking about though, if it's the blue one for Tapatalk.

Any ads you get in Tapatalk are Tapatalk ads, and do not have any ties or connection to the site, nor do we make any money off of them. If you're getting full screen ads popping up when you user VT in your mobile browser, then it has to be from something else running on your phone or in your browser, because VT does not have any ads.

So I've disabled the full page option, let me know if you're still seeing the advertisement you mentioned in the OP

I haven't seen the full screen add since I posted this thread. Also they don't seem to show up when I am logged on. But I seem to get the top of the screen add about half the time I visit. I always visit on Incognito mode on Chrome, never have used/had the Tapatalk app.

I believe this is the same as when you browse Tumblr on the browser. It will promote its application instead. Any forum compatible with Tapatalk will probably prompt this too. Tapatalk is most likely responsible for this, attaching their ads because VT is set up to be compatible with the app. Because they know that VT uses it, they can shove their ads on the page even if you've never used the app yourself.

Not 100% sure that's how it works but it's not VT placing the ads, at least not directly.

This is essentially what's going on. We do have control over this banner, but it's actually beneficial. Most people who browse mobile probably don't know about Tapatalk, so this banner is actually somewhat useful. It can easily be dismissed, so there's no reason not to have it.

I use the google app on iPhone and I never see adds or banners of any kind. Other than build in ones on a lot of websites. Btw, it's the one with the blue "g", not chrome or Safari
