shy and worried

at my school we have the same teacher and peers every year, we all go up to the next grade together since kindergarten. there's a boy in my class who I have always been super close with but lately things feel different, like he likes me. I can feel the energy between us changing and I like it but I'm shy and don't know what to do. it's obviously there when we are together, it feels electric between us and I suddenly lose my voice and can't find words at all! I feel like someone has to eventually acknowledge it but how?! any ideas?

Are you like this with other people as well, or just shy towards him? Perhaps have someone there with you while you talk to him if you don't have trouble talking to other people, it would make things a lot more comfortable.
